Ritual Roasters is worth the trek into the Mission if you're looking for high quality coffee. Baristas are well trained and friendly and make the best espresso and fresh brewed coffee using a french press. Ritual also serves up some very nice chai, a few different teas, and great miniature cupcakes. The cafe can be crowded and noisy, but still it's a fun place to spend the afternoon reading a book and visiting with friends. Free WIFI access too. more

Ritual 4/26/2006

This place opened up last year on Valencia and from day one this has been the most popular caffeine outpost for miles. I met the woman who opened this place a long time ago and she was java obsessed. She didn't have kind things to say about the offerings any of the existing places in the city and was focused on not only serving up the most well crafted beverages, but making the best place to drink them. From the lines and crowded tables, it's obvious that she did just that. I'm not much for coffee myself, so I drink the Chai here, which is super creamy and delicious. more
