Best

I have had the pleasure of eating yummy desserts and drinking perfectly prepared coffee and tea at Rimsky's several times over the past few decades. I am frankly shocked at the ne...

Worst

I ordered a double capp, but got a cup of swill with sudsy foam... this is not specialty coffee. Pros: desert, atmosphere Cons: their coffee

THE BEST IN PDX!!! 10/14/2002

I love this place! Great desserts, good coffe, awsome atomsphere! GO THERE!! more

What a find! 10/6/2002

I love this place for atmosphere! What a wonder, and as an employee told me, more than two decades without a sign. Absolutely amazing. The employees were friendly and open, the coffee was great. A perfect after-movie destination! more

What was that? 9/8/2002

Any meal here is full of surprises. We went to dessert at about 11 and the place was jumping. The piano music can get a little loud, and the nearby tables in a close space can also get noisy. Desserts are delicious. The ambience is very personable and a surprise lurks in every corner of the house. Prepare for some ""comapny"" if you make a trip to the restroom. Pros: Good Dessert, Fun Atmosphere Cons: Noisy more

Most Aweseme! 9/7/2002

Rimsky's is quite an event. Whether you want a romantic evening alone in the corner with your Special Someone or a funky night with friends, this is the place for you. Live music, mismatched everything, and originality - this place has it all! Pros: The Bathroom, The Tables, The mugs and napkins Cons: Hard To Find, Can Be Crowded more

Great desert! 8/20/2002

This place has great desserts with musical entertainment some nights. te service is a little skethcy sometimes, but the bliss you feel when you take your first bite makes up for it. Interesting decor. Don't forget to check out the upstairs bathroom! more

FROTHLESS 7/30/2002

i HADN'T BEEN HERE IN A FEW YEARS BUT HAD BEEN RAVING ABOUT IT TO FRIENDS. RECENTLY I TOOK 5 FRIENDS ON A SUNDAY NIGHT AND IT WAS A DISAPPOINTING EXPERIENCE. IN FACT NONE OF MY FRIENDS OR MYSELF HAVE BEEN BACK. FIRST THE WAITRESS TOOK 10 MINUTES, OK 8 TO ASK US WHAT WE WANTED. THE PLACE HAD JUST OPENED AND THERE WAS ONE COUPLE BESIDES OUR GROUP. tHEN AFTER WE ORDERED IT TOOK 20 MINUTES FOR THE DESSERT AND COFFEE TO ARRIVE. THE DESSERTS WOULD HAVE BEEN JUST AS GOOD AS IF WE ORDERED THEM FROM SARAH LEE AND ALL THE COFFEE'S WERE COLD. WHEN WE TOLD THE WAITRESS THE COFFEE'S WERE COLD SHE TOOK THEM BACK AND PUT THEM IN THE MICROWAVE, WELL HECK I COULD HAVE DONE THAT. NOW I NEED TO FIND ANOTHER PLACE!! more

Cute,but really-what's with all the hype 7/29/2002

Really...the service leaves much to be desired. The headlining dessert -Mocha Fudge Cake is not a cake at all....closer to an extremely dense brownie...perhaps even in the catagory of ganoche. Atomosphere (if you can get away from the noise of patrons smashed together) is decent...take a visit to the bathroom upstairs! Otherwise, it feels like a living-room crammed with far too many guests at Thanksgiving. Great concept...just needs some fine tuning. Pros: price Cons: Poor service, atmosphere loud more

like pie 7/26/2002

A slice of heaven on a crowded street. Rimsky allows people to get away in a secretive, and known way. You feel comfertable in this house setting where no dishes match, but pampered knowing you don't have to clean up when you're through. A favorite to locals and a treat to tourists Rimsky will never fail. more

super delish and full o' style 7/18/2002

great coffee. even better if you order a rasputin ice cream to go with it. Pros: parking, atmosphere Cons: need good directions, crowded more
