Love and Compassion with a Common Sense Approach 10/1/2011

We have been taking our beloved pups to Dr. Patrick Hourigan and his staff for well over now 9 years now. We have been together through good times and bad. They make every effort to accomodate any unexpected urgent office visit, and show genuine care and concern for their animal patients and pet "parents". more

A kind and caring clinic 7/16/2011

We have been taking our pets to this vet clinic for over 8 years. We recieved this recommendation from our neighbor and couldn't be happier! We feel like we are among friends when we are at the Richmond Vet Clinic. The care they take with our pets (cat and dogs) is amazing! We have been treated with respect and patience whenever we have had questions or concerns. One of the best parts is our pet recieves a "report card" at eah visit which helps us know how our pet is doing. We have recommended Richmond Vet Clinic to family and friends. As long as we live in this area, we will never go anywhere else! more

One of a kind 6/1/2011

We are so fortunate to be under the care of Dr. Brand and the staff at Richmond Veterinary Clinic. The care we receive for our two dogs, one of whom has special medical needs, is amazing. Dr. Brand is thoughtful, informative, sympathetic, and kind. She takes her time, conducts additional research by consulting with specialists, and follows up with us at every turn. more

Best Vet Care !! 5/14/2011

We have been going to Dr. Pat for over 2 years now with our 2 Aussie Lab Mix Rescue Dogs. The staff is wonderful and they show their hearts with the care they give our two boys. But I have to say that Dr. Pat is what I term as an Animals Angel , the care that he gives is personal - not just another person/animal off the street - he truly cares and gives tender loving care each & every time we visit. Our two boys - Frisco & Zeus - are picky about who they trust , they have been wonderful with all the staff at Richmond Clinic , I note that as they can tell when they are truly cared for as animals have a 6th sense about people. Dr. Pat has worked hard at giving Frisco use of his leg back after an ACL injury and I am so grateful to him for that as My Boys are My Family and with Dr. Pats love & care we will have many more years together. We will forever be clients of RVC & will reccomend to anyone that needs a Vet that truly cares ! Thank You All for your great heart & love & care that you give to our Family ! more

Best Veterinary Clinic 4/12/2011

I have been going to Richmond Veterinary Clinic for 11 years. They have treated my yellow lab since she was 6months old. Tess have Parvo, and as a puppy, this was very serious. They took extra special care of Tess. Most adult dogs don't survive parvo, and I was told, puppies hardly ever do. Tess made it, with the help of this clinic. After she beat the parvo, she developed numonia. This was our puppy!!! They helped her get over that, and then she stopped using her back legs. After many exrays, we had to go to the University of Madison Vet School, were they found out that the infection from the parvo settled inbetween the disc's of her spine. If it were not for the good sence of the doctors at Richmond Vet, Tess may not have lived. Every year after Tess has been to Only See This Clinic. They took the time to care for our Tess, and it is something I will never forget. Dr. Pat and Staff, thanks again for all you do!!! more

Wouldn't go anywhere else 1/22/2011

With 3 cats, and 2 dogs, we surely make many visits to the Richmond Veterinary Clinic. You might say we are regulars there! We feel so fortunate to have such knowledgeable veterinarians right in our hometown. Both Dr. Patrick Hourigan and Dr. Kristin Brand are caring, and are good listeners to your concerns. They ALWAYS have your animals best interest at heart. The staff is also very knowledgeable and helpful. They have a busy practice, but getting an appointment when we've needed one has never been a problem. more

Seems to really care about the animals they treat 1/11/2011

I really like Dr. Houigan and his staff and so do my dogs. They are very personable and like their holistic thinking. They are aware of all the dangers of the recommended protocols of vaccinations that have been given to our pets needlessly over the years. I have gone to other vets in the area and they are by far the best. more

I've been a client of Pat Houigans' since he first opened in Richmond. He is the best vet I've incountered in my 58 years of owning pets .We Have gone to many vets through the years and I have to say Pat is like a friend of the family . He shows his love for what he does he is so knowledable and caring. He has cared for 10 dogs I have had through the years and my birds. at a time when he did not care for birds and wasn't sure how to help he called and got the info he needed and saved my bird who was egg bound. My dog Mona a yellow lab had a huge tumor by her front leg which was in a very hard spot to stitch to keep together when she would walk it would pull ,he devised away to keep it from coming apart with tubing amazing . her tumor was cancer aggressive and thought only a few months to live .He suggessted herbs and amazingly she lived another 3 years. I trust him completely with all my pets . Our other lab had diabetes and had arthritis of the spine could hardly walk he suggested accupunture and she was walking like a teen again for several more years. his staff is great. Yes sometimes Pat isn't there the days we would like everyone needs time off , we try and get the days he is there if we deem it needs his expertise. we are thankful for all his care for all our furry and feathered friends. Thanks Pat and all your caring staff for your many years of service your a great part of our community. We are grateful to have you all. more

Too Busy for My Schedule 10/31/2009

I was a client of Pat Hourigan's for many years and he is a wonderful, compassionate vet. He took great care of all of my dogs. But I eventually started running into a problem with being able to get appointments. I only had certain days I could come in and when I would try to book an appointment they were full, full, full and full. When I asked one of the receptionists what I was supposed to do if my dog really needed to be seen, I was abruptly told, "Go to the emergency clinic in Crystal Lake.", after which she turned and walked away. Hated to do it but after that episode I found a vet clinic that could work with my schedule. more

Great holistic approach to healing animals 2/1/2007

Pat Hourigan saved my German Shorthair from losing his left rear leg due to paralysis. Using acupuncture, Chinese herbs and conventional approaches, my companian is running on all four legs and has about 98% use of his leg. I consider it a miracle - my previous vets were suggesting amputation. Pat and his staff are great with animals and use the cutting edge techniques to treat their patients. Pros: Appointment times accomodate your schedule; it's rare that you don't get treated at the time of appointment. Friendly, family like service. Obvious that staff enjoys working together. Cons: none more
