I would like to make a comment on the first to negative remarks made by mo.q and Jack B. Most of the people sitting on the machines are just trying to get their sets done before someone else moves in on them. Yes it's a small gym, but its well equipped and if you had any manners, you would just simply ask that person sitting on the machine to allow you to finish your sets. It isn't hard to do, you would be surprised to see how friendly and curtious the people there really are. You sound a little selfish. As far as the kids behind the counter, they are doing the job they are told to. It isn't a dusty place. GET REAL!!!!!!!!! This gym is spottless. The only thing you have to concern yourself with is the germs in the air from others. When you are done working out, clean your hands and go home and take a shower. Not all that bad, however too many of the people working out here have never worked out before and so they tend to"rest" on machines instead of getting up and out of the way so other people can work out. Some even think that the machine is theirs when working out and do not allow anybody near it . Also, the kid managers find it necessary to clean the dust off the machines and the air vents DURING operating hours with dust and god knows what flying all over the place and into my lungs!! The 21.95 is the only thing keeping me here. more

The only good thing about this gym is the price. This gym has no classes but it does have a movie theater that plays a handful of garbage movies. This gym is WAY overcrowded. On a weeknight around 5-8pm you will not be able to find the weight or machine that you need. It would be helpful if the staff put the weights away once in a while but they rely on the paying costumer to put them away. The staff is usually a handful of high school students who sit at the front counter and eat pizza that everyone can smell when working out. But all in all this gym is practical if you can't afford a $50+ gym membership. more

I have been a member of Retro in another location for a couple years now. My sister belonged to the Jackson location so I met her there to workout. WHAT A DIFFERENCE!! I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the Jackson location. Not just because it's new, but because the people that work there are friendly, courteous and willing to help at the drop of a hat. The club is clean - which I really appreciate and the atmosphere is friendly. The equipment is kept clean and always in WORKING order. GOOD JOB Retro of Jackson -- KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK. I, for one, really appreciate your hard work!! more

Retro of jackson is brand new and located in such a convienient location. The movie theatre and TVs on all cardio equipment make working out fun. Also, the personal trainers are readily available to help you with anything you need. Rates are affordable compared to all other gyms! and enjoy a smoothie right after you work out. they are delicious. more

I hate working out, but the flat screen LCDS and movie theater make it hard to not learn to like. All the equipment is clean and new. Staff is ready to help if you have any questions. The atmosphere makes working out seem fun. Everything is wide open and the locker rooms are huge. Showers included just incase you want to freshen up after hard workout. more
