Excellent Massage 8/6/2008

Initially I had reservations because I don't generally trust these places. Most of the time I get massages at hotels in Las Vegas, but I literally had to go because of pain in my neck and back. I had a male masseuse, who was clearly educated and skilled in giving a massage. Not a random person rubbing your back. They have back rooms for massage, as well as a changing room, shower, etc. I was surprised. Having had massages at Bellagio, Wynn, Mandalay Bay, and MGM Grand, this was as good, if not better, than any I had ever had. I cannot speak about the other aspects of the place. more

Great spa experience! 5/8/2008

Great friendly service. Whenever I get manicures or pedicures there they last forever, much longer than anywhere else I've gone. The facials are very good too! They are a tad painful... but as they say... no pain, no gain. My pores are clean and happy when I leave . They definitely use quality products. I want to marry the massage therapist there. They really work on your knots. Love this place... an east village gem. Pros: inexpensive, quality service and products, atmosphere Cons: no cons more

good facial, terrible massage. 4/22/2008

while the facial was great, there were some painful parts. my skin is clean but very irritated and red. the massage was traumatic, and my muscles hurt 100 times more when i left than when i arrived. it hurt so bad it brought me to tears, and this was after i asked the masseuse to be gentle. more

Great little Spot! 4/9/2008

i was very sore from stress at work and working out so much! i decided i needed a massage and was really willing to go just about anywhere as long as it was close to my office (it was slow so i snuck out for a bit). i found renew & relax spa after about 10 mins on google, and boy am i glad it did! At first glance it seems like just another nail salon, but when you walk to the back they have a whole bunch of rooms & a locker room with additional rooms downstairs. the decor was very simple and relaxing, they had nice music playing. I opted for the massage/facial combo. Only $99!!!! (well $103. with tax) Steve was my masseuse he was great! He warmed up my muscles over the blanket first and then used oils directly on my skin! He seemed to concentrate on my back and neck, didn't spend too much time anywhere else im not sure if this is because that's what they do or if he realized how tight i was in those areas., either way im not complaining...that's what i needed! Then off to another room to have my facial done by Donna! The scents in the cremes were so unique and wonderful i was told they are made in Korea. there was one that i especially loved, i couldnt put my finger on the scent right away but a few hours later i realized it smelled just like my favorite Tea, mango Ceylon! Donna Left me for a few minutes with fresh cucumber over my eyes and a thick clay mask over that. my only complaint was that it was a bit chilly in the basement rooms, but then again, i'm ALWAYS cold so maybe it was just me. Either way, they were very nice and didn't try to get you to buy things you didn't really want or sneak in added costs like a lot of places do when they ask if you want lavander oil in your massage lotion and then charge you an extra $30 or something. Nope, this place was friendly, honest, and just an all around great experience. And you can't beat the price, especially for Manhattan! Highly Recommend! Pros: Walk-ins welcome, friendly staff, very reasonable prices Cons: A little chilly in the basement rooms? (could be just me) more

Best Massage anywhere, very clean 1/10/2007

I am so happy to have this multi service spa in my neighborhood. My problem is that I never have enough time to do all the things I want to do at one time. The special combo massage and facial for $99.00 is to die for. The staff is kind and very knowledgeable. Pros: prices, cleanliness, open late, very eye pleasing more

Great new spa in the East Village!! 10/16/2006

I am very excited to have made Renew & Relax my new neighborhood spa. It just opened recently, and I'm already a loyal customer. Upon first glance, it appears to be primarily a new nail salon. However, after getting a personal tour from the owner, I was pleased to discover manis and pedis are just the beginning. It truly is a fully functional spa, complete with locker room, full bathroom, treatment rooms, communal lounge, and downstairs massage rooms. There is even a couples massage room! The decor is simple, modern and clean with fun design ideas. Their prices are very good, and the treatments are thorough and not rushed. I am happy to have found a clean, reasonably priced new spa with exceptional service! Pros: Cleanliness, convenience, price more

Pure relaxation! 10/16/2006

I have been very stressed at work recently, and really needed a massage. The tranquil design and welcoming staff eased me in for my luxurious treatment. I opted for the $99 grand opening special (which includes 1 hr massage + 1 hr facial) AMAZING price and value. I have never had a massage so life changing... it centerred me so much, it really made everything so clear... that I decided to quit my job. Thank you Renew & Relax. Pros: clean facilities, great values, happy staff more
