Redbone is the closest you can get to "dining out" in Sumter, SC. It is one of the only places in town limits that is not part of a nationwide chain, but make no mistake, it's not one of a kind. There is at least one other Redbone Alley (in Florence). The food is different from your American Bar & Grill chain places, which gets it a favorable point.
It's blend of continential cuisine and southern, down home cooking definitely bring a variety not found elsewhere in town.
However, the slow service and dim lighting make it a place to skip if you're out for a quick bite. The "courtyard" decor adds space to the room and you almost forget you're in Sumter.
I recommend trying it out, as the food was good on all of the occasions I was there. It's popular around town and relatively quiet inside. Not a place to spend a long evening of dining, but nice for a good quiet meal.
