Best

I have eaten here for Dinner and Sunday brunch both were amazing... I never had an issue with service, although I did notice that the staff does give you space and lets you enjoy ...

Worst

Had brunch here. The food was too salty and the piano and sax too loud. We were seated at a table across the room from the jazz duo and had to almost yell to hear each other. ...

Ok food. Great music 6/16/2011

I love places like this. I love all kinds of music too so, it was fun for me. The food was ok, nothing great and certainly nothing to write home about. Good coffee. The group I saw that day were on piano and sax. It was great music. I was alone, so I just sat there, enjoyed my coffee and listened to their music. Good stuff. more

Too much Salt 1/9/2011

Had brunch here. The food was too salty and the piano and sax too loud. We were seated at a table across the room from the jazz duo and had to almost yell to hear each other. I had a veggie omelet and hash browns with fruit. The only thing on my plate not overly salty was the fruit. The hash browns were well cooked (probably over cooked) and the omelet was kind of dry. The service was very good. more

Terrible Experience 9/21/2009

Brought a date to this restaurant. The atmosphere was nice, but the burger I ordered had a hair in it. This did not compare to an hour later when we became ill from something in the food. I almost had to go to the ER. Horrible night thanks to unsanitary food conditions. Pros: Nice Atmosphere and Drinks Cons: Terrible Unsafe Food more

Amazed by the goodness 9/9/2009

I have eaten here for Dinner and Sunday brunch both were amazing... I never had an issue with service, although I did notice that the staff does give you space and lets you enjoy the atmosphere, your meal, and your company. Only disturbing you when convenient or if summoned. When I had dinner, my girlfriend and I elected to try the 3 courses with the wine pairings per course. I'd have to say their pairings were awesome...they went quite well with each dish. Although it paired well, there was however one wine I did not really enjoy and once I mentioned this to our waiter, he gladly replaced it with another just as suitable with my dish but better on my palate. I highly recommend the Black Cherry Mojitos, The only place I have seen them, they are O so good and the Bloody Mary's are nice and spicy as well. Pros: Live Music - Great Food/Drink Menu, Ambiance, Wine-Pairing Cons: None Yet! more

One Cheese? 4/4/2009

I was kind of surprised that the cheese and meat plate we ordered had only 1 cheese, and nothing special, only a havarti type, and tiny in portion compared to the mounds of fatty prosciutto. Maybe it was an off night in the kitchen or there was a run on cheese . . . Service outside was really slow. Pros: atmosphere, music mac and cheese Cons: slow service more

Jazz 1/8/2009

Great food, Jazz and drink selection. Their cocktail selection is great and the best part is, they have wine on tap! more

Not the place for a quick meal. 12/4/2008

I read all the reviews and its pretty much dead on. So I knew what to expect when I got to the restaurant. The service was slow; we had a three hour dinner. Just get menus, water, and our wine corked took about 20mins. The waitress said she would be back in a minute to take our appetizer order, 15mins later she was back at our table. The food was great. There were 6 people and we all ordered something different. All our plates were cleaned. The salmon was great, and the burger was on target. Both dishes are worth ordering again. The deserts were very good as well. I would recommend the three sherbets and the carrot cake. Although the Lava brownie was a nice treat too. They aren?t in a hurry to turn tables, so if you are into a long dinner, and want to relax. This will be a place. But If you have a movie to catch or friends to meet up with after dinner. I would skip it. The Corkage is $20! Not the best rate in Pasadena. more

Go to Cafe 322 instead 11/17/2008

I love live music and I love jazz....but after having tried out both Redwhite + bluezz and then cafe 322 a few weeks later...I have to recommend that you pass on this place. Pros: Good wine selection Cons: poor service more

Cool Place, Not the Best Service 9/15/2008

The overall experience was good, but we waited quite a while for our food and my braised short rib was lukewarm. It tasted good, but I would have expected it to be hot given the prices. The restaurant wasn't very busy and the service still seemed somewhat slow. The wine experience was great. Pros: Good wine selection / Good flights Cons: Service a little slow / food not hot more

I really enjoyed this place. 3/17/2008

I'm not a huge wine buff, but I often travel with a group that really enjoys it. Redwhite + Bluezz was perfect for us. I went with a group of 6 and they managed to seat us without any problems. I loved the food. If you love cheese as much as I do, you must try one of their ?cheese flight? plates. Their steak is great. And the boneless beef short ribs my friend had were delicious. After dinner we headed over to the back of the building where they have an awesome bar and jazz club. The music was great and the environment was fun and inviting. Parking and waiting for a table was no better or worse than any other decent place in LA, so I really have no complaints. It?s a fun place that I would recommend. Pros: Great music, great chocolate, great wine. Cons: Parking is no better or worse than most LA hot spots. Just valet. more

perfect place for Sunday brunch! 3/17/2008

in a word...YUM. had a nice, lazy Sunday afternoon listening to live music, sipping champagne and digging into a delicious omelette that had rock shrimp, crab and a spicy/tangy sauce. my friend loved the Monte Cristo and the black cherry mojito. While the location is close to Colorado Blvd, it doesn't have the frenzied, commercial feel that is beginning to overtake Old Town Pasadena - especially on the weekends. It was a little tough to find street parking, but there is a parking garage nearby. \r the service was good, and the sommelier was especially helpful. i look forward to going back for happy hour and sampling some of the cheese selections/wine flights. Pros: live music, great environment, terrific brunch Cons: parking more

Excellent food. Awful service. 2/16/2008

I thought this would be a great treat for my jazz-loving boyfriend. The restaurant called me the morning of to confirm and recommend that we eat in the grill at eight, then go over to the club for dessert and the show at nine. I took the recommendation. Big mistake.\r \r When we showed up at the grill, the waiter had no idea what I was talking about. Fortunately, I remembered the name of the person who had called me. At 8:45 the person in question showed up at our table, told us the club was booked but hopefully a table would open up by the time we finished, and then disappeared again without an apology or even an acknowledgment THAT WE HAD SPOKEN THAT MORNING. \r \r It was at this point service went from slow to glacial. \r \r It took two hours, two hours for them to serve us one appetizer and two entrees. It was ten o'clock when they brought us the check, which was a few dollars south of $100. At the waiter's insistence we walked over to the club, where they had no idea who I was but they'd be happy to seat us - provided we dropped more money on more food and wine. We left and went home jazz-less. \r \r Mistakes happen, I have no problem with that. What offended me was the total lack concern from everyone on staff except the poor, frantic waiter who seemed to be serving the entire room by himself. The food was spectacular and would have been worth the price alone - but that was a pretty giant scheduling screw-up and we were offered no compensation and only a cursory apology from the waiter.\r \r It could have been worse, though. When the table of five next to us was served, they were an entire entree short. The waiter blamed a ""computer error."" At least they got free dessert. Pros: Best food I've had all year Cons: Some of the worst service I've ever seen more

pairing great wine with great music 8/8/2007

i'm a wine snob. it's true. i generally limit my outings to places where i can enjoy a great glass or two. unfortunately, when it comes to music venues i am almost always forced to compromise and go with a cocktail or beer (anything to avoid bad wine). so i was eager to accompany a friend when she told me about redwhite&bluezz. what a wonderful, pleasant surprise. finally, i could kick back, enjoy the sounds AND have an excellent glass of syrah. nice! and while we didn't really dine in full, the poke-tini was really nicely done and the mac and cheese was yummy. great, casual spot to hang out with friends. more

Nothing very good, service noticeably bad 4/26/2007

We went on a Saturday night a few weeks ago, and had a reservation. The wine flights were dramatically inferior to the ones we had just tried at Vertical Wine Bar (3 blocks away at Raymond/Union). The macaroni appetizer and risotto appetizer were terrible and mediocre, respectively; the halibut was pretty okay. The dessert was forgotten. The service varied between unfriendly, neglectful, and strange. Unfriendly was when the busboy introduced himself warmly and then turned hostile (really) when we asked for tap water instead of bottled. Neglectful was when people at a table next to ours walked out because no one had come to take their order after 20 minutes of waiting. Strange was when our waiter got the red and white flights confused with each other (no, that's definitely not a chardonnay...) and when he reached across people's chests to adjust the plates of the people sitting next to them. Everything combined, it just felt like amateur night, which was disappointing when considering how expensive it is. Pros: The music is fun Cons: Food, wine, service, value for money more

Excellent food, great ambiance, friendly people 12/13/2006

We went there for the first time tonight and while we wish we had gone tomorrow (Thursday) for the live Jazz and Blues, we were not disappointed. While the menu may seem overwhelming, relax and allow yourself to truly peruse everything. The combinations of foods that this restaurant has created are amazing and creative. We got the macaroni and cheese appetizer which is a breaded concoction where every bite blew us away. I had the airline chicken with a white chocolate almond beurre blanc sauce. While the sauce seems too sweet with the potatoes, it complements the chicken perfectly, creating a moist, unique flavor. The portions were small, but not in the irritating French way. Each plate comes with just enough to make you satisfied with what you ate, but ready for more of the amazing delectables. While you are trying to decide what to eat, don't forget to turn the menu over and discover the amazing wine and cheese ""Flights"" that they have. These are 3 wines or cheeses paired together in a small sampler so you get a chance to try those wines or cheeses you may never purchase on your own. \r Every moment in our meal was enjoyable and delicious, with friendly wait staff willing to help. We left feeling that our business and ourselves were appreciated and with every intention of coming back again on a night with live music (though we were told that reservations are highly recommended!) \r The menu also lists performers (Thursday, Friday and Saturday) and wine and cheese tastings for the current month. Pros: Ambience, presentation, uniqueness, wine tastings, everything about the place. Cons: Honestly, we can't think of any. more
