Thanks for all you have Done 3/29/2012

I Did Not Think I Was Possible! When I checked in I honestly thought I was hopeless. I had been addicted so long that my life completely revolves around the use of drugs and alcohol. My family had checked the cost of many other treatment centers prior to deciding on coming to Recovery Resources. I am thank full that they chose to have me come here. It was less expensive than many that were researched and the location is unbelievable. It is located on the ocean in northern Palm Beach County. I would not say I was a spiritual person when I arrived but there is something about watching the sun rise on the ocean that makes you think there is a higher power. Many of the staff were in recovery and had gone through the same thing I was going through. The program was much smaller than many of the others we looked into. I always felt that I had plenty of time with my counselor and the other staff members always took the time to talk with me. The groups are small enough that I didn't feel overwhelmed and was able to participate and learn about myself. Some of the people in my group went home to continue their recovery after thirty days. I went on to the extended care program. I am glad that I did. Once I was at the extended care level we began to develop friends in the meetings and I began looking for work. They wanted me to get a low stress job so I would have time to get used to some of the stress of life in community slowly. They really knew what they were talking about because I was surprised at the fact that I had to learn to be accountable and responsible even though I am middle aged. I know I have rambled a little here but after being sober for over a year I know that Recovery Resources gave me the help I needed to get started. It has been a year and I still stay in touch with some of the people that I went through treatment with, some are still sober, some relapsed but returned to sobriety some I have lost track of (I Pray for them). I know that each person is responsible for their own recovery and no treatment center can make or keep someone sober. I will be forever grateful to Recovery Resources for the way that I was treated and not judged or made to feel ashamed of what I had become due to my addiction. Love always more

Some people just don't want to get clean 3/26/2012

I've been reading all these BS reviews that people have been writing about this place and have finally decided to tell my story. I'd been to 3 other rehabs. They either treated you like crap or made you stay to pay their bills. At the beginning at RR when I needed some TLC cause I was coming off benzos and dope, they were there through the day, night and the whole time i was sick as a dog in their detox. They treated me with respect and understanding and I relied on those techs late at night to talk me off the cliff more than once. Sure it's not the Beverly Hills Hotel and they don't have a pool, but they let you go to the beach when you are feeling better, supervised of course, and that made the difference for me. The facilities are quaint but clean and if you really want recovery ( which a lot of complainers don't cause they are forced into rehab by others) then you can get it at RR. I don't know where that one person went, but I was never criticized or harrassed or shamed. Far from it they helped me find me again and my self-esteem has never been better. Yeah, somebody had some bites, might have been bedbugs, but bedbugs are everywhere, including the Plaza Hotel in NYC. When I was there they tore one apartment apart and treated it professionally. Ya know it always seems like the jerks who go to rehab and don't really want it or aren't ready to get clean and sober are the ones who have something negative to say about it. Truth be told, this place saved my life. Yeah I had a slip up or two since I left there, but I got right back up each time and got back to my meetings. I couldn't keep reading about the negativity. There's always gonna be somebody who has something bad to say, its the nature of the beast. Thanks RR, for everything. I even called two weeks ago about a family member that needs help. I want her to go there. There is obviously somebody who's review on this website is intended to discredit this treatment program by making accusations about them forcing psuchiatric drugs on their clients. When I read the writing, which has about 90% quotes from some source about the science of antidepressants and antipsychotics, I can't help but think that that person sounds like he/she really needs some medicine. It is the ranting of a lunatic. No-one forced any drugs on me, in fact it wasn't until 3 weeks or so after I got sober that I realized I had probably been depressed all my adult life and it was then that I became willing to try medication if the doctor thought it would help. Guess what, I started an anti-depressant called Lexapro and a sleep aid called Seroquel. I asked lots of questions about the Seroquel because it was called an ""anti-psychotic"" and I didn't think I was psychotic. For a month or 2 I got blissful sleep and then stopped taking the Seroquel with the doctor's approval. I still take the Lexapro and it has started working for me slowly. I am grateful for the cautious approach they used at RR regarding putting me on meds. I don't know what's the matter with that guy on City Search, looks like he's just looking for something, someone to blame for his problems, whatever they are. more

Don't fall for the fancy website 3/23/2012

Don't fall for the fancy website and the sales pitch when you call. They boast of all kinds of amenities that do not exist. The Family Program is non-existence and the extended care is in a gross neighborhood with lots of seedy characters and crime. If you like lots of double talk, loose accounting practices then look no further put your loved one there but don't expect much in the way of professionalism. more

This place has made a difference 3/16/2012

Recovery Resources has helped thousands of people over the last 15 years. I dont understand some of the previous reviews. The Detox and Residential programs are in Juno Beach. If you are not familiar with that area it is a very affluent neighborhood on the atlantic ocean. that being said the program has a maximum of 15 clients, unlike many programs that have 50-150 beds. The staff their seems genuinly concerned about the patients and go the extra mile to facilitate an atmosphere of recovery. more

Extended residental treatment apts are in crackville 2/14/2012

Cannot say enough about this place and their dedicated, caring staff. They saved my son's life! more

Snoring, bedbugs and mind games 1/1/2012

They have a bed-bug infestation and are to CHEAP !! to hire a real exterminator and buy this Diatomaceous Earth bullcrap to get rid of bed bugs. This dust has razor sharp particles that lacerate insects when the come into contact with it. It is important to use a dust mask when applying DE as it can can be harmful to your lungs and eyes ! They throw this stuff all over our belongings and leave it there till it works. It works if you work it. It hasn't worked yet. It's amazing the bed bugs can even stand these small bedrooms with the beds 28 inches apart were you get stuck sleeping next to a sick SNORING MAN for 30-180 days getting to know his breathing noise Patterns hoping for a break so you can get to sleep. Having negative emotions about this place is a ""defect"" that needs to be fixed. You will be routinely criticized, shamed, ridiculed, discounted, diminished, and be told in dozens of ways that you are worthless, not being honest, diseased and need to ""work the program"" as they work your familys bank account. more
