Worst

I will have to agree with the previous review. It's too expensive. For $13, you only get less than half a fillet. Ambience is soft but the running waterfall is pretty annoying. Ha...

food pretty good but sort of cold, certain dishes I expected were missing 2/10/2008

I ate at Radhika's for the first time at their weekday buffet. First of all, the food was already sorta cold and it was only 11:30. Second, I love palak paneer---where was my palak paneer? No samosas, either. I was also disappointed in the kheer, which was mostly liquid and very little actual rice (actually, they made theirs with what seemed to be very thin noodles? Or maybe it was a different type of rice grain. I wasn't familiar with their version). The flavor was good, but it was more like a bowl of milk/cream with some rice/noodle floating around in it. The selection of three desserts included the kheer plus two varieties of chopped fruit salad. I was hoping for some carrot halwa or other traditional Indian desserts. These are my favorite Indian dishes and they were either missing or not done well. But their chicken dishes are very, very good--tender and deliciously flavored. I don't know what all the other dishes are called but it was mostly tasty. Service was fine albeit a little too attentive, but we were also the only ones there for a while. Although I would probably return, this for me isn't the best place around. Pros: Inexpensive, nice-looking restaurnt, generally good food and service. Cons: Variety not what I'd hoped, food was cold. more

Okay food, Okay prices 2/24/2007

Came here on a Saturday night for a romantic dinner with my boyfriend. Atmosphere had potential, but the AC was cranked up WAY too high and there was some electronic music being played a bit too loud. The location is nice...and it feels like a secret when you do find it, tucked back in that little alley. Loved the look of the food when it was served - my dish came in a gorgeous copper bucket, and all the dishes were beautiful. I ordered the Malai Kofta which is always a favorite of mine, but the sauce was just mediocre and lacked the depth that I love about that dish. My boyfriend had the Aloo Gobi, which was a little undercooked for his taste, but the flavor was good. The naan was undercooked as well and was heavy and doughy. Service was fast (perhaps a little too fast for an Indian restaurant...I like to know that all my food is made fresh and on the spot, and Indian food takes time to do well), and we had lots of people visiting our table. Price was average, and we definitely had food to take home with us. Pretty good value for the price, but there are better Indian restaurants out there. more

Good food, Horrible service 10/23/2006

My friends and I went for dinner. Their food was delicious. However, their service was rather insulting. When we asked for a few min, the waiter gave us dirty look and remained next to our table until we hurried to order. With very annoyed look, he recommended us the most expensive dishes in the house and a lot more dish than we need. The waiter and waitress gave us very constant rude service during dinner. The owner came by our table after meal and I mentioned their poor service. While the owner was apologizing, the waitstaff gave us very uncomfortable so-what look. I feel very sorry for the owner, but he needs to hire better waitstaff. I'll recommend take-out. Pros: Delicious food Cons: Rude, Uncomfortable waitstaff more

What a great place! We tried the lunch buffet ($7.99 / all you can eat) and were extremely happy. The food was delicious, fresh, and much to choose from. Our service was very friendly and attentive. There's outside pattio seating and enough seating inside to bring a large group. Overall, GREAT RESTAURANT! Pros: Great food, great price Cons: none that I can think of more

Amazing lunch buffet! 6/19/2006

This place was fantastic! I went with some of my co-workers for the lunch buffet and the food was absolutely delicious! For $7.99, there was all you can eat of a variety of vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes and three delectable desserts including carrot halwa and kheer (rice pudding). I am of North Indian descent and was very impressed that the food was not too spicy or too sweet. It was absolutely perfect!!!! Pros: ambience, parking, lunch buffet price more

I will have to agree with the previous review. It's too expensive. For $13, you only get less than half a fillet. Ambience is soft but the running waterfall is pretty annoying. Have to do something about the table( it's too small). FIY, they charged $4 for rice and $2.50 for bread. Frankly, I won't recommend anyone there. Food is ok, but it's overpriced. Pros: romantic Cons: expensive , bad parking, waiter has attitude. more

All-time best Indian food buffet by Linda D. at InsiderPages 11/16/2005

Their lunch buffet is outstanding and at a great price. You can't beat it anywhere. I have come back to this place many times over for the great freshly made chappatis, the outstanding lunch buffet (M-F only) and the great atmosphere. more

Mmm, this was good! 7/17/2005

I've always thought Indian food smelled so delicious, but it was too spicy to actually eat! (weddings and other celebrations where the food is catered and I can't customize it's spicyness)... Anyway, I looked this place up, and asked my bf if we could have dinner there one evening. First off, let me say that the the ambience was lovely. Clean, pleasing, and romantic. The food we ordered was delicious (Chicken Tikka Masala and a Chicken-Banana dish I forget the name of). The ONLY problem is that they charge you extra for rice! How are you supposed to eat the dish without rice? Plus, the dish itself is already quite expensive ($12 and $16). The nan was also separate (although the garlic nan was amazingly good). I highly recommend this place, but their prices need to match the amount you get. Pros: Great environment, Yummy food, Quiet and romantic Cons: Price, Wait staff-no smiles more

Nice ambience, but bad food 5/14/2005

The restaurant's decor is relatively impressive, and the service was prompt. But I would not recommend it. The chicken vindaloo was dry, and so was the chicken tikka masala. The rice was definitely micro-waved, and equally dry. more

Fair food, poor service 3/5/2005

After reading several positive online reviews, a small group of us gave Radhika's Sunday Brunch Buffet a chance. While the food itself was decent, the poor service made the dining experience horribly memorable in the most negative sense. The waitstaff spilled a drink across our table with nary an apology or acknowledgement, nor did they even try to clean it up while our table attended to the spilled mango lassi ourselves. Another waiter later rudely demanded a used plate after I tried to hand him the wrong one. Possibly the most rude service I've ever encountered in the last few years. I will avoid and never recommend. Pros: Nice dining atmospher, Decent buffet Cons: Rude, Unattentive more

Although I might not be an Indian cuisine expert, Radhika's was incredibly good. I loved the calming interior and our waiter was extremely nice. It was my first time going there...my boyfriend finally took me to eat Indian food. The lamb meat was soft, nan bread was yummy...it was just a great experience. I am dying to go back with him, and I've been trying to get his parents out there (since they're Indian). Delicious! Pros: Ambience, Great Food, Good Prices more

Not bad! 8/14/2004

The recipe here is very distinct (if you like most of your dish creamy or yogurty) and Dining arrangements are nice and spacious. It's a good place to dine, o.k and but "not bad". Pros: spacious more

Truly Top Notch Indian Cuisine 9/28/2002

Zymo Provided by Partner
This place is hands-down one of the best in the LA area - easily as good if not better than Akbar or Bombay Cafe. The food, service and decor are all outstanding, and the location is a unique little side street off of Lake in Pasadena. The excellent seafood biryani is different than that of Akbar but on an even par and nice and spicy if you want it that way - (I have yet to find an equal to the "Maharajah Biryani" at India House on Morrison in Portland, OR - still searching.) The weekend buffet is similarly excellent, offering dinner-caliber dishes including Chicken Tikka Masala and a Chicken Kadahi dish that tastes for all the world like a fine roast beef! The hospitality here is above and beyond the call - I was given a complimentary Golab Jamun dessert on my first visit. Highly recommended!!!! Pros: Great Food, Spacious & elegant, Street/patio seating Cons: Time limit validation more

Curry House of the Gods! 7/1/2002

Love this place. It took me 12 years of living in LA to find an Indian restaurant good enough to write home about. And I did, and I took my family there when they came out to visit and they loved it too. The lunch buffet is always a great deal, lot's of choice with nan bread and drink included. The menu really has no surprises, which is a good thing, and everything I've had from there tastes great. They even manage to rustle up some stuff for me that's not on the menu. Here's what I order...Chicken Korma: A mild dish with a coconut and cream base. Lamb Rogan Josh: Rich, dark sauce with green and red peppers. Chicken Dopiaza: Tomato and Onion sauce, some peppers and a very nice flavor. Pros: inexpensive more

Dinner Better Than Buffet 6/13/2002

This place converted me from hating Indian food to being a complete addict. There's a great (and cheap) lunch buffet, friendly staff, and not-too-overdone Indian ambience. The real treat, though, is to come for dinner. The buffet (and the cheapness) are gone, but it's worth a little more to get the same delicious dishes only fresh and hot from the kitchen. Yum. Pros: yummy food, affordable buffet, try the bread more

All Time Favorite Lunch Buffet 5/22/2002

izelmorena Provided by Partner
I've been here for dinner, and it's pretty good. Though, nothing beats their Lunch Buffet. For $9, you get a drink, bread, and an all you can eat lunch buffet which includes dessert. That just can't be beat. All of their dishes are outstanding, even the dinners, though the variety you get with the lunch buffet is the best. The service is fantastic. Very friendly, and very prompt. Also really romantic when you're seated outside with candle light. Pros: Lunch Buffet, Prices, Service Cons: Limited Parking more
