This was the worst place I ever stayed at. They don't change the sheets. Was there 3 days...never changed our sheets. The sheets had a tear in them also. I saw the maid's cart and...

Hi, we were looking for the cheapest yet decent place to stay near the beach. The room was OK, the bed was comfy. Worth it to save the money, IMO more

The hotel was clean, service and staff were very helpful and nice, breakfast provided was good and what I like (cold cereal, hot cereal, waffles, fruit, yogurt, bagles, muffins, toast, juice & coffee, tea, hot chocolate. The bed was comfortable although the bed sheet did not quite fit the mattress so it would slide off the corners during the night. You had to travel a little way to the historic district, but we had a car so I didn't find it a problem. I would go back if I ever vacationed in Savannah again. It is a interesting and fun city, and I enjoyed myself. more

I've been a regular at this hotel since 2007 and will continue to stay at this location whenever I visit Charleston, SC. The staff is pleasant, knows me & greets me by name and is very accommodating to my needs. If I request a particular room, they will have that room for me or if I need to check in before 3:00 p.m., they will bend over backwards to have the room ready for me. I've had one or two issues but they were resolved to my satisfaction and in a timely manner. more

We selected this hotel because they were close to the airport, and the rate was the lowest we could find online. We were not disappointed. This is an older hotel, but the beds are comfortable and with the Wi-Fi and free breakfast we thought it was a good deal. more

We had planned our trip a bit differently than it panned out and found ourselves in Charleston, SC rather than in Columbia, SC. and scrambling for a good night's rest. I called almost every hotel/motel in the AAA SC Tourbook and were hitting nothing but dead ends. I called Sandra at Econo Lodge who not only had availability, but she helped me acquire the best available rate to me. She was patient with me, accommodating and friendly! We were pleasantly surprised (after being unpleasantly surprised at another nearby motel we checked out). Our room was modern and more than what we needed for a one night's stay. The bedding was fluffy and ultra white, requirements for a great night's sleep. Breakfast did not disappoint either. Ample offerings of continental breakfast food, with sausage patties and a Belgian waffle maker available AND the coffee was great! more

This hotel is outside of downtown on a highway and looks like a dive, but it was safe, clean and the staff were wonderful! I would stay here again without a doubt. I don't need fancy when I'm on vacation, I just need a safe, clean place to lay my head each night. more

My husband and i decided to set out on a drive south and decide where we will go, decided to stay in Savannah booked, Beaufort booked, Charleston, everything we wanted booked.Had to look at less than desirable places. Worried when we booked. Went up to our room and opened our door. Wow i thought we were at a different hotel chain. Our room was very clean, new carpet, new furnishings. lacked a flat screen tv ,but that didn't matter to us. The manager said they were on order. Although we are very close to interstate 26 and an airport noise level overnight is very low. Didn't hear any airplane overnight. The bathroom was very clean a little small but that was expected. You could hear people clearly outside the door, because of the small gap at the bottom of the door, was the only thing i found that bothered me. We had room 206 on second floor and was able to park our car right in front of our room. They do have a better than just muffin and bagel continental breakfast. Waffle House beside them and a Bp station w/ Bojangles in it. The Tanger outlet center is down the road from them that also has a Wal-mart and several other resturants to choose from. We booked for 2 nights and was given the same rate for friday when we asked to stay another night. Very nice people who manage this place very accommodating. more

Basic. Clean. Economical. Friendly service. Close to the airport: 3 miles from the Charleston, NC airport. We stayed here for one night. Was impressed with the cleanliness of the room. A very basic motel room, but a way to save money. more

Worst place in Charleston 6/6/2009

This was the worst place I ever stayed at. They don't change the sheets. Was there 3 days...never changed our sheets. The sheets had a tear in them also. I saw the maid's cart and she only had ONE set of clean sheets for the whole hotel. The tub stayed stopped up and smelled like raw sewage. We asked for an extra pillow because the 2 we had were flat as could be but they had NO pillows any of the days to spare. There was NO iron, NO hairdryer, and the free breakfast was a honey bun or Fruit Loops with very weak coffee and Tang. The staff was rude. There were fights across the lot each night and yelling all night long from hoodlums. It was cheap but still way too expensive for a stay like that! I am very dissatisfied. We notified the staff and they acted like it was the 1st time hearing of the the plumbing problems, however they NEVER offered to change our room or fix the problem. Plus the room had a musky/mildew odor that was unbearable!! I used an entire can of air freshener to last the 3 days. Plus there is no pool! Pros: it is cheap, but still not worth the price Cons: details are all misleading on website! more
