RE: Publix Pharmacy 11/17/2011

All customers are not treated equally. Depending on unknown factors, you may get your refill in 27 days or 30 days. This is based on inconsistent statements from the pharmacy staff, specifically the pharmacists. In addition, they factor in when you picked up the last prescription. I have never been treated like this at any pharmacy. There are different rules for different people. Why this is so, I wish I knew. I can only conclude that this is some type of discrimination. All patrons are not treated this way. The only conclusion is that if they do not like you, then you have to wait until the 30th day. I guess if your car breaks down or some other unforeseen crisis happens, then you are just out of luck getting your prescription at the very last minute. I had been getting prescriptions at Publix for years, since I shop there. This is the first time they have told me I had to wait 30 days and not one minute before that to get a refill. The automated system states the time and date you can pick up your prescription. When you go into the store, it is a different story. You are told that you will not get your pescription for 30 days. I was told this by a male pharmacist that works in the afternoon and evenings. A couple of months ago, I was told I would receive my refills every 27 days by the pharmacy manager Tiffany. Well, which is it? Perhaps, I should have spoken to a store manager. I will document this situation. I believe every customer should be treated the same. There are certain considerations if you have insurance. I can understand that situation. What basis and reason is there for treating me differently? I can see no reasonable explanation for the treatment I received from the Publix pharmacy staff which includes the pharmacists. Where is the code of ethics? The policies and procedures? Do they make it up as they go along? What factors are in play here? more
