Providence Tarzana Medical Center Outpatient Imaging

I am a Doctor. Since Providence took over the imaging, they put in excellent technology. I can view the images from my home computer. The detail of the pictures is so good that I can enlarge the pictures and see a lot of detail. The technician go the distance in trying to perform the studies I order perfectly and beyond expectation. On occasion this had helped me make a diagnosis that I might otherwise have missed! They are busy and sometimes the staff in the front needs to be reminded that you have your RX or that it was faxed in, but you can walk in at anytime during the hours that they are open, up to 1/2 before closing, currently 4:30 pm. The billing complaints below are potentially a problem anywhere. The prescriptions do need to be specific, which actually allows the insurance company to pay better. I am very critical when it comes to the quality of the tests that I receive. I don't get any personal value, or perk for writing this review. I did it because I want my patients to know why I am sending them to this location in particular. more

Our child's dr. recommended we go here because it was close and took our insurance. The experience with the desk staff was lousy and then less than 90 days after the X-Ray was taken they sent our bill off to an even ruder collection agency. When we called to make payment arrangements - they refused. When we gave them credit cards, their authorization machine wasn't working correctly. KEE-RIST! How can this place stay in business?? \r \r So many other places can provide this service in a friendly and professional manner. I agree with the other reviewers ... Nearly a year after a 4/17/2009 mammogram, I got a precollection notice with a $650 bill. After months of calls, faxes and emails, I was told by one of the people in the process (who will remain anonymous to protect her) that this agency price gouges, insurance doesn't pay full amount, then remainder often is billed to patient. Sometimes they adjust, sometimes they don't. In my case, I am having trouble reaching someone who can help me and give me straight answers. I have never had a bill this high after a mammogram with my insurance policy, which has been the same for years. I'm still battling and it is now with collections. If you must go here, ask about fees up front and make sure you keep all of your paperwork and statements. This will impact my credit rating and I am losing but not giving up. Checked in at 8:15am for 8:30 appt. Sat in WR for 15 min, had to actually ask staff if paperwork was required and they responded ""oh yeah, we'll be right with you."" Filled out paperwork and sat for 10 min, then they asked ""do you have a prescription."" I gave them prescription and 5 min later they said it wasn't adequate and I needed a more specfiic Rx. It was 8:45am by the time they told me Rx wasn't good enough. They refused to do my tests so I left with nothing. Immediately went to another center with SAME presciption and was booked for an appt with no hassle. Do NOT use this facility. Pros: Location Cons: Poor customer service more

Billing dept refused to follow guidelines of their insurance contract. More trouble than it was worth. would go elsewhere in the future. Threatened to send me to collection on an incorrect bill where they failed to credit the insurance payment which they received. more
