Felt Bad!!!! when i reached there felt very bad about their customer service. I am marketing executive need to travel a long. When i reached Albany got an appointment with salon for hair coloring & some highlights. But they did avail with the color i wanted and forced me to opt for other which was high price. more

I was fortunate to have worked for Bart after finishing Cosmetology school...his wait list was months long and every service he provided explained why. He is a master at what he does. He is dedicated to his profession by always staying updated with style and providing an excellent atmosphere for his clients. I highly recommend this salon. more

I wanted to find a new place so after reading the Yelp reviews and others I took a chance. I'm SO glad I did. I called and was lucky to get a last minute appointment. I was greeted on the way in by Claire, a smiling, hip, attractive young lady with beautiful hair. On the way to shampoo, I passed Bart (owner) cutting someone's hair, who also made a point to give a cheery hello. He, too, was also well groomed. (I think that says something when the staff is ""well kept"") Claire sat with me before shampooing to discuss what I wanted to have done. Although I brought a photo, there were little things about the hairstyle I wanted tweaked. She listened intently, asked questions to make sure we were on the same page and offered suggestions. Not only did she make it a point to ask what I liked, she wanted to make sure she was clear on what I didn't like. How refreshing! Claire offered a robe (smock), noting that my sweater may catch the little hairs and that perhaps I'd be more comfortable (very thoughtful). The entire place was very clean; including the restroom, area where they keep the robes and the waiting area. Around half-way through my hairstyle I see that Bart was done with the woman who he'd been in the process of cutting when I arrived. She looked fantastic. I came in with a boring haircut - I left with a hairstyle that turned out to be EXACTLY what I asked for. It's also cut so well that I hardly have to do anything with it to make it fall the way it's supposed to. I really can't say enough about the whole experience. BTW-They don't take plastic. more

I have not been to a hair salon in 10 years. This is due to the fact that I had a terrible experience in which the hair dresser didn't listen to what I wanted and chopped my hair off. I hated it and I have been afraid to go to a salon ever since. I have been having my cousin just trim my hair every now and again. But lately, I have been wanting a style to my hair. I was sick of the same old hair but at the same time didn't want a drastic change. more

For several years I lived in NYC and had a friend do my hair that used to work at Vidal Sassoon. When she relocated to Vegas, I didn't know what to do! I ended up getting a couple of hair modeling jobs, but recently needed someone to do my hair. The last cut I received as a hair model was amazing, and something exciting and different for me. But, 8 months later (yes, too long to wait, I know) my hair was growing in a bit funky. Again, I didn't know who to go to. So, I turned to citysearch, and listened to the people writing about how wonderful Bart is. I'm so glad I listened! Bart gave me one of the best haircuts I have ever received. Considering some of the previous funkiness he had to work with, it probably wasn't a terribly easy task. He also gave me highlights that looked amazingly natural. I was hesitant for a long time to ever color or highlight my hair because I am all about the natural look. Now that I've found Bart, I will not be nervous any longer! Bart, owner of Progressions, has been cutting my hair for 10 years. Bart is truly an artist and is a master at cutting and styling. He is always aware of the ""modern"" styles and uses his creativity to make my hair look its absolute best. I always trust him to cut and style my hair in the most flattering way possible. I can't even remember how many times I have been stopped by women who complement my hair and ask who my stylist is and I am always happy to recommend ""Bart, owner of Progressions"" The salon itself has a beautiful relaxing decor which Bart updates regularly and it is always clean. The staff and stylists are friendly and fun. It is a busy place but the mood is happy and professional. more

I was searching online to find a salon near my office that could fit me in for an ""emergency"" cut on my birthday. I found a couple reviews for Progressions, called to see if they could fit me in, and was scheduled with Chris-co-owner of the salon. The staff who answered the phone was courteous and friendly and didn't make me feel like I was off my rocker for trying to squeeze in a short-notice visit. When I arrived the salon was very comfortable and clean- relaxing. Christine was fabulous - she listened to what I was trying to go for -figured out what my hair likes to do on its own and went to work. She gave me an absolutely amazing cut and style - I got a ton of compliments. Would definitely recommend to a friend. Pros: High level of skill, courteous, nice atmosphere Cons: cost of service more

I have been going to progressions hair salon for many years. I get my hair cut by Christine T. and I always leave there feeling pretty. I watch Bart her husband cut other peoples hair and he truly is a master at what he does-hes so awesome to watch. I always go to Chris because she does great medium length cuts on my hair. I got a medium bob yesterday and I feel great about the cut. It looks modern and sassy and i feel great and had to post a review because each cut I get from her is better than the last,and I dont know how that is possible but it is!! Pros: great ambiance more

I have long, layered hair (to the middle of my back), and I prefer to color it myself. So I needed a stylist who cut layers well, and didn't badger me to have my color done professionally, or become annoyed at me when I explain this. Bart, the owner of Progressions salon, turned out to be the answer to this particular prayer. Using a razor on my dried hair to do the shaping around the face, he gave me one of the best layered cuts I've ever had. And he did NOT push styling products, color, highlights, etc. on me after I explained that I color my own hair. In fact, he asked me which combination of Clairol Complements colors I mixed to get that particular shade. Pros: EXCELLENT cut, no pushing of high-priced products or procedures, flexible scheduling Cons: Atmosphere a little bit rushed and tense; price moderately high, but a good value more
