If you are looking for an Honest place to bring your car, Pro Tech is the place to go!\r \r I have an older car that seems to be ok, or so I thought before trying a few different place in Austin that were closer to work. Every time I left these shops I felt so unsafe about the condition of my car, I didn't know what to do. I couldn't afford a newer car or all of the expensive repairs that the other places told me about. After speaking to my neighbor about my situation, I was referred to Ryan and Evan at Pro Tech Automotive. Calling them to make an appointment was, by far, the best thing I have ever done for my car.\r \r When I made my appointment I was able to schedule a ride home using their shuttle service. After they looked at my car I received the dreaded call. It turned out, my car wasn't as bad as it had been made out to be. It still needs a lot of work, but thanks to the crew at Pro Tech I have been able to take care of some of the repairs that affected safety, and now have a budget and a plan to address the other work that will help keep my car on the road. When it was all said and done, I was without my car for a few days, I feel that I was able to consult with a very knowledgeable professional who was truly interested in helping me make the best, most informed decision I could (not just a pushy salesman worried about their bottom line), and the final cost was actually less than what was originally quoted to me. Way to go guys, you have earned my business! \r \r When it comes to car repair peace of mind is priceless! more

Took truck in to get breaks fixed and a tune up - the engine light came on - long story short the breaks never got fixed - it did get a tune up but its a tune up any mechanic should be able to do a tune up - when I drove it out of the shop the engine light was off for about 5 miles then it came back on - I called Evan and he told me to bring it back in - brought it back in - now the breaks had another problem and he will work on getting the engine light off - drove it out and again the breaks were not fixed and the engine light came back on - this is not free - each time I bring it in I get a bill - called Evan and again he told me to bring it back in - again something else was wrong - again he fixed it I mean worked on it - I paid the bill and again the breaks were not fixed and the engine light came back on so I drove it to Firestone where I should have gone in the first place more

Disappointment doesn't begin to express my feelings after trusting Evan and Ryan to provide me with fair and competent repair on my truck. Both times that I took in for repairs the misdiagnosis resulted in repair costing twice as much and took twice as long as quoted. The last time after two weeks in their shop finally had to take vehicle to another shop and pay again to have what they claimed to have replaced at cost of $1200.00 repaired at additional cost of $775.00. They refused to reimburse me for the additional costs because I refused to use their approved shops for evaluation which would have resulted in more out of pocket expenses and lost time from work. As it was lost 2 weeks of vacation time waiting for repairs which I sure could use now that have suffered broken foot and unable to work. Now must waste more time and money pursuing matter in small claims court. What bothered me the most was the violation of the trust I put in them so if you are looking for honest repairs go somewhere else. more

Good Work Protech 2/17/2010

I was referred to them by a friend because my car was making a funny noise. I called them and the receptionist was so nice and helpful on the phone, she brightened my day because I was in a bad mood when I called. Pros: Honest and really great pricing Cons: far drive from North Austin, but worth it more
