My son has been attending Primrose at Vista Ridge since age 18 mos (now 3).  We have had a wonderful experience with the staff at Primrose, and my son absolutely adores his teachers.  As a parent, you want the best for your ""baby"", and after searching high and low for the ""perfect daycare"" (we looked at 5 others in the area), we decided on Primrose at Vista Ridge. We have never looked back.  The owners, director, teachers and front staff all helped us feel comfortable from the start.  They ""get"" what it feels like to start taking your little one to daycare (sadness, fear of the unknown).  In fact, the teachers emailed me pictures of him several times and wrote small notes on his progress during the first few weeks to help with the comfort level of leaving my little one.  Needless to say, over a year later, my son loves going to ""school"", loves his teachers and his friends and is learning so many things at a rate I couldn't even imagine when he started attending Primrose.  I absolutely 100% recommend Primrose at Vista Ridge without a doubt.  It's the best thing any parent can do for their child more

Heather,\r I just wanted let you and your staff know what a great job Mrs. Koval and Mrs. Packard are doing with Kaitlynn. This morning Kaitlynn decided that she just wanted her mommy to hold her and give a little extra love. I did but could see that there would be a fit when it was time to go. Mrs. Packard helped me by asking Kaitlynn to carry the flag and the whole fit was avoided! Thank you for making the such a smooth transition. Keep up the good work.\r From a happy mommy,\r Ellen Briscombe more

WOW! 11/22/2011

So I wrote a review and it was deleted, I guess the school couldn't help that they have a a dirty little Assistant Director who sleeps with peoples husbands. And the more I continue to find out she was a STRIPPER! Not only do they hire anyone off the streets but I guess they will also allow this in the school. I would stay clear of this school! more

LOVING STAFF! 4/3/2011

Before coming to Primrose, I thought I was going to have to resign from a job I loved because I could not find a good center for my child. After a friend referred me to her son's school I thought I would try one more time. Previously, I had left 3 schools for various reasons. First, I picked my child up from a school where his diaper had not been changed all day long! Second, my child had his pacifier tied to his neck with a shoe lace (choking hazard) and third, my child cried profusely for 6 weeks every day I dropped him off. When I came to pick him up at various times of the day, the children were never engaged and the teachers just always talking to each other. What a difference Primrose was from day one! The teachers warmly greeted me and my child. After 3 days my child was no longer fussing to go to school and in fact, he runs down the hall! I can't even tell you what a feeling this is. He has now been at Primrose for 8 months and I have been blow away with what he has learned. This is truly a preschool enviroment and my child is blooming! I thank this school every day for giving my family a wonderful, family like environment. I don't know what I would have done without this school. more

Primrose Vista Ridge - Recommeded! 10/5/2010

My wife and I learned the great news that we were expecting our first child, and it seemed that we were immediately reconnoitering daycare facilities. Um, honey babys not going to be here for, what, another eight months? Isnt it a bit too soon? It turned out it wasnt too soon, for we embarked on what turned out to be a long search for the perfect place for our baby. We slogged through many daycares, and soon all of them merged together in my mind. We saw a lot of nice places, but we didnt feel absolutely right about any of them. And then we visited Primrose Vista Ridge. \r Christy, the owner, met with us and answered all of our questions and we (OK, my wife) had a lot of questions! Then we took a tour of the school. The first thing we noticed was that, to our surprise, there were dozens of children there but not a single one was crying. Indeed, all of them were actively engaged in a meaningful activity led by the clearly hard-working staff. There were no children off in corners by themselves. Even the sleeping infants had staff members sitting next to them rubbing their backs. \r Another thing that struck us about Primrose Vista Ridge was how clean everything is. I quipped to my wife, This place is so clean you could manufacture microchips in here! We saw a child drop a plate of food on the ground. There was no scolding; one teacher simply helped the girl get a new plate of food while another instantly descended on the mess with towels and disinfectant. \r There were lots of neat little perks that made Primrose irresistable: a solid security system, computers in the classrooms (seeing computers on the little desks still cracks me up!), great outdoor play areas, polite and helpful staff the list goes on and on. \r Dropping our first child off at school for the first time was, of course, difficult for us in all the predictable ways. But the staff called us and sent pictures to let us know how our child was doing. The teachers have been wonderful at keeping us apprised of his doings and coordinating things with us. The quality of the school has made transition to relatively easy and almost (almost!) guilt-free! We couldn't imagine leaving baby anywhere else, and we highly recommend Primrose Vista Ridge to anyone. Save yourselves the eight months of looking around!\r Don Robertson (Primrose Parent)\r more

What To Look For In A Quality Preschool 10/4/2010

When looking for a quality educational program in a preschool setting, you’ll want to keep the following in mind:\r ? Student to teacher ratio: What is the student to teacher ratio? How does it compare to state standards? Are the teachers effectively taking care of the number of children in their classrooms? Even in group care, it is important that children get a healthy dose of one-on-one time.\r ? Teacher qualifications: What are the training requirements for teachers? Is ongoing professional development required for teachers? Are teachers certified in first aid and CPR? Caregivers with degrees and/or special training will be better able to help your children learn.\r ? Curriculum: What approach does the school use for educating children of each age group (infants, toddlers, preschoolers)? Is there a blend of academics and social interaction? Are the children actively engaged in meaningful activities? Well-rounded programs will offer developmentally-appropriate curriculum for different age groups and a balance of child-initiated and teacher-directed activities. Children learn best when they have opportunities for guided instruction and self-discovery.\r ? Accreditation: What type of accreditation has the school achieved? Does the accreditation process include both internal and external evaluations on an ongoing basis? Accreditation means the school meets standards for child care that are higher than most state licensing requirements.\r ? Achievement: Are learning outcomes specified for each age group? How is a child’s progress measured? How do students perform once they begin attending elementary school? A quality school will be able to demonstrate how their current students’ achievement is tracked and how well their graduates do.\r \r The education that your child receives during the early years serves as the foundation for your child’s future and is essential to his or her development and future success. Visit schools and talk with the staff. Talk to people you know and trust about their choices for their children’s care and education. Your homework will go a long way toward finding the right school that will set the foundation to build your child’s active mind, healthy body and happy heart.\r more

Hola! Muy Bueno! 9/23/2010

My daughter came home the other day telling me that she went to China. I knew that her class was learning about different countries and I tried to explain to her the difference about 'going' to a place and actually 'learning' about it. She wouldn't listen to me and kept telling me ""no mom, I really went to China!"". Then I read her daily report to see if I could understand why she was being so insistent. Well....she was right....the class did actually go to China....in a way. The class Skyped with another 5 year old class in China and they sang songs in both languages. Her teacher told me they spent around 45 minutes visiting their new friends. Now how cool is that! This is just one example of many as to why we absolutely LOVE this school. Talk about making learning fun for the kids. In my daughters prayers at night she now prays for her new China friends and asks God to help them learn English ""really good"". more

The Very Best in Cedar Park Childcare! 9/20/2010

Primrose School at Vista Ridge is an outstanding child development facility for toddlers and preschool children. We moved our children here from another local center in January and the differences are astonishing. We are much more informed about our childrens daily activities and care and feel that the curriculum is much deeper and creative than others we have seen. The teachers are exceptional, very knowledgeable, and provide a loving, secure environment. They quickly get to know each child as well as their strengths and areas in which they might need more help and support and then they follow through. We are informed daily about what our children did and enjoyed that day and about any problems or concerns. Two times a year the school holds parent conferences to give us additional insight and ensure that the teachers and parents are in sync and working together for what is needed and what is best for each child. The curriculum not only teaches but entertains the child in a hands on learning environment. Our children have so much fun each day, and we applaud the creativity and diversity of the programs, including art and activities. Everything is research based and age/ability- appropriate. The weekly newsletters for each class are fabulous and let us know what our children are learning and enable us to interact with our children regarding their days and then build upon what they are learning in their classes. Additionally, the lessons in Spanish-- which are a standard part of the curriculum--are fantastic. Both our 2-year-old and our 4-year-old love the Music programs. Our 4-year-old also raves about his Spanish lessons and his knowledge of Spanish has grown immensely since we started attending Primrose in January. We also very much appreciate the presence and leadership of the administrators at Primrose. They are very involved, as well, and always respond to any questions or concerns quickly, thoroughly, and graciously. Our only regret is that we did not move our children here sooner!\r \r We highly recommend Primrose School at Vista Ridge to anyone looking for top-notch care for their children, and we simply cannot say enough about how happy we and our children are at Primrose!\r more

Home Away from Home 9/19/2010

From the first time my family toured this facility, we felt at home. It is a smaller center than many of the mega centers in the area, which was important to us. We did not want to be just another number. Every teacher and member of management knows every member of my family, even the grandparents! Also, the smaller property is ALWAYS clean, organized and secure. I will always love my Primrose School at Vista Ridge! more

LOVE PRE-K HALF DAY! 9/17/2010

There is only one word that can describe our experience at Primrose School at Vista Ridge - WONDERFUL. The teachers are wonderful, the director and asst director are wonderful, the school overall is wonderful. Our daughter started in the Tue/Thu Preschool program. We were really concerned about the initial separation since she had never been in a school before. But the staff and children at Primrose have been wonderful with her. Her teachers are so patient and nurturing that after only a handful of visits she stopped crying during the morning drop off and actually looked forward to going to school. They understand that each child is different and tries to be sensitive to the individuals needs and learning curve. We could not have asked for a better pair of teachers. Primrose could not be so great without strong leadership which is displayed from director and asst director. Not only do they try to keep up-to-date with the educational needs of children but they are hands on all the time everything from speaking with parents to playing with the children. Directors from other programs we had visited were very administrative and did not bother to be involved with the teachers or students or even touring parents more

Cedar Park is Blessed! 9/15/2010

I don't know what my family would have done without this awesome preschool! We came from two bad experiences and now see how great a school can be!\r \r My youngest daughter is in Ms. Miranda's class and has blossommed! They are learning sign, being introduced to new vocabulary words and many textures/sounds/experiences. They truly learn from hands on experiences! \r \r The Mgmt. team is second to none. They always have a smile and hello and provide solid feedback to any of my questions. The building is always clean and the property well taken care of! \r \r I can't say enough good things about this private preschool. If you are not happy where your child currently attends - go see why Primrose is so unique! They do what they say. more
