I have been to several, what are called "medical spa's" over the past year or so. This is the first one that truly lives up to that name. I originally met the staff at the Pink Pamper event and I was so impressed by their knowledge and professionalism. They have this integrative component that provides many services. I have been to their esthetician Paulette. She has helped me with my skin in many ways. On Saturday, I met with Doctor Heil and I was treated with Restylane in my facial folds. I was concerned about the pain I was going to endure, but the combination of the numbing cream and his skills made me extremely comfortable and relaxed. I am so pleased with my result. . As for the price, its worth every penny!!! Im surprised they don't even charge more to have the Doctor do the treatment. Overall a very pleasent, professional experience. Thank you again to all !!!!! I completely agree with the commentary above!! I have never rated anything on citysearch, but these facial truly deserve a recommendation. I have sensitive and somewhat problematic skin, therefore I get facial frequently. I have tried a lot of different places in my out of town travels. Unfortunately, decorations and atmosphere is the only thing that most of these places are good for. The ?benefits? of all these facials only last a few days at best. Acqua Blu spa is not pretentious; its appearance is clean, sophisticated and very beautiful. It prides itself on the amazing results and service. This spa is so clean and sheek, the decor is looks like I am in a Californian spa. I love that it?s got a contemporary feel. This is one of the most relaxing, welcoming spas I've ever been to. The clean white and silver atmosphere is very warm and cozy. The water features throught the spa are absolutely beautiful, expecially in the relaxation room. The staff is extremely professional and friendly. Everyone smiles. There's no better way to relax after a long day than with a facial massage and steam . The pumpkin enzyme peel smelled like a pumpkin pie, best of all my face was glowing and soft to touch. I recently went in to see Paulette for my regular waxing and facial appointment. ....she's is awesome. Paulette's attention to detail and expertise is unmatched in Pittsburgh. She never double dips the wax stick, very thorough and clean as she performs her magic. The facial leaves my skin smooth and clear. I like the neck and shoulder massage, steam and the fragrance journey; a definite stress relaxer. The care and knowledge that Paulette possesses as she does her services set her apart from everyone else. A truly amazing place. I went in for a consultation on laser hair removal and Botox. What I recieved was full information regarding the procedures, photographs, and then some. With the integrative approach, the practioners (plastic surgeon and professionals) there informed me about all the possibilities to maximize my result. The actual procedure of the laser hair removal was done by a Physician Assistant , that I swear, was the best in the city. Overall, I had an amazing experience at this medical spa. I love the Botox treatment, my face looks very natural and refreshed. They also had several e-savors so that it was more affordable. This was a bonus. Pros: Knowledgable professionals, great technique, a beautiful spa and practice. Very clean. Staff are all very friendly. Pros: Talented staff. I researched BOTOX services thoroughly before making the call to Acqua Blu Medical Spa. I was happy to actually find that the procedure was performed by a board certified plastic surgeon. Dr. Brian Heil was very knowledgable, answering all of my questions and concerns which lead me to believe that I was making the right decision to move forward. I scheduled the procedure and am extremely happy with the results. I was afraid that my face would not appear to look natural but I was wrong. The results are great!!" I was looking for a spa that would help me look and feel young again. Acqua Blu exceeded my expectations. The staff really cared to meet my every need. My esthetician did an amazing job on my skin. They had a wonderful microdermabrasion treatment that was remarkable. Every detail was perfectly customized just for me. This spa is definitely worth a visit. I have been to many other spas, but none have met my anti-aging needs and made me feel pampered at the same time. The retail boutique is unbelievable. They sell products that I have seen at spas in California and Arizona. I never would have thought a spa like this would exist in my neighborhood. more

I went to the Acqua Blu on the recommendation of a friend. Since my first visit, I have been back three times.The esthetician Bethany, is so sweet and professional, and she does a great medical microdermabrasion. My treatment lasted one hour. Their facials are effective, truly amazing and relaxing. The products they use are amazing, very high end but they have made the price affordable. The atmosphere is breathtaking. I couldn't believe this is in Pittsburgh. When you enter the retail store, you have everything you need to get great skin. I decided to have a Juverderm treatment by Dr. Heil about two weeks ago. I had the treatment in the past, but this was less painfull and far less bruising. I am very pleased. The plastic surgery practice is a place where I feel that I have received caring,expert treatment. Doctor Heil's staff are well trained and care about exceeding my expectations. Acqua Blu Medical Spa is a true "urban oasis"; you are warmly greeted, taken in and given services that are consistently outstanding. The physicial space is beautiful, comfortable and always clean. This is not your typically spa in Pittsburgh. Acqua Blu offers an authentic spa experience. Many places claim to be ?medical spa? but miss the mark; This has truly qualified professionals, the physician assistants and the skincare specialists are outstanding in what they do. I visit Acqua Blu weekly for waxing, have facials monthly and I just recently had a Botox Treatment from the Plastic Surgeon, Doctor Heil. The quality and services far outpace those of other so called spas. Paulette's facials are amazing; I immediately see the results of her work. Doctor Heil is a real expert, with training and years of experience he offers sound advice and consistent results. Lastly, I found the skincare lines to be effective and they did not cost as much as I thought for being such an upscale spa. Thank you for bringing this to us.
