Honest. 12/12/2011

I've been going to Precision Auto Service for a couple of years. It started with my girlfriend's car. She was taking it to another place in town, and every time we went in it was around $1000. Then we started taking it to Dan at Precision and he was honest, and he knew how to fix the problems without running up the bill. I've taken my car there for about 3 or 4 years now. They know how to problem solve, and they go out of their way for you, whether to give you a ride home or if you want to come in after 500 miles for a quick check up. Dan knows my car better than I do, and he makes himself available on the weekend, but most importantly he is honest, and there are never any surprises. more

Precision Auto Service is pretty good. Dan is really good about getting back to you and letting you know what's going on. He explains everything very clearly. A lot times I don't know what he's talking about, but that's just because I don't know anything about cars. At least he makes an effort at trying to explain what's going on. I've been taking my car there for a few years, and I don't have any reasons to go anywhere else. more

Precision Auto Service have always been very prompt. They are also always extremely flexible and accommodating, and let me bring in my car sometimes without making an appointment. I've known the people there for many years, and they are all very nice people to be around. The two men who help me maintain my car are Terry and Saltzer, they have both been extremely helpful. I am very pleased with this shop! more

Trustworthy and conscientious. 9/12/2011

I've been going to Precision Auto Service for a very long time, since Dan has been there, and even before he was there. I've gotten pretty tight with Dan over the years. I can't say enough good things about him. Dan is the best! They've done a variety of repairs for me for my various cars over the years. They are very responsive, there have been many times I've driven my car in and they can take it immediately and see me. They are timely in getting repairs done. They are honest and conscientious. They have always taken care of my needs. This is a great company with good people, and I highly recommend them to anybody! more

Dan is excellent and sincere, no doubt about that! He replied an email i sent around 8pm telling me when i could come the next morning to get immediate attention. He also willingly referred to another place when it seemed like my job was not going to get done on time. more

I have been bringing our cars here for the past 4 years. Dan has helped me out so much! I have two small kids - so dropping a car off can be a hassle- but it is so easy to here. Wandering downtown while you wait is fun! Also - our Subaru axle boot(?) started leaking in the middle of nowhere on our way to Mammoth last year. We couldn't get a hold of anyone locally, so I called Dan! I asked him what we should do, and after a little discussion of what the problem was, he said we should be fine to make it there and back. Whew! I felt so much better! We brought the car in as soon as we were back. more

Really easy to work with, and trustworthy too. 8/8/2011

I have recommended a lot of people to Precision Auto Service, and I will continue to recommend them for sure. I've been going to Dan ever since he started working there, and I found him to be even better than the previous owner, Chuck, after he came on board. He is very responsible, very responsive, and he does first-class work. He is just first-rate in terms of customer relations, and that's why I keep going back to him. He's just a really easy guy to work with, and he's trustworthy too, which is not always true of mechanics these days. D. Black more

I've been bringing my Chevy Silverado here for many years (ever since the Warranty expired). It has nearly 180,000 miles on it and runs great. I recommend Dan and his long time crew. more

I have been taking my 2001 LandRover to Dan at Precision for 6 years now. I first met them when I went to them for smog emissions. It has a very personal feel. When you pull up, they see you and attend to you. I appreciate how minded they are about the cost of repairs and communicate your options to you up front. I love my relationship with them. It is both professional and friendly. They are timely too. The location is convenient to the freeway and downtown, so if you have to wait, you can walk around on State Street or knit in the waiting room and talk to Dan, like I do. I am a big fan! more

Precision Auto Service is the only shop I've gone to in the last ten years. I go for all my service needs. They always hit the mark and offer good pricing, they hit their time frame for repairs. They have great communication and tell me what's wrong on the front end of things and if I don't want something fixed, they don't push or pressure me for the sale. It's been a super experience! B. Good service, responsible follow-up, very fair pricing 6/22/2011

My family operates older cars than average - 70's through mid 90's - so range of service knowledge is good. Willingness to diagnose difficult or intermitent issues and follow-up when first attempt wasn't a total solution is valuable to me. Very fair in pricing hard to determine failures. Great to work with from drop off and forget to working together on a "project". more

I've been going to Precision Auto Service since they were owned by another fellow. When he sold, I decided to stick with the new owner, Dan, and that was about thirty years ago. I'm completely comfortable leaving my car with him because he's honest and always fair with his customers. I highly recommend him! more

When you find a mechanic you can trust, you stick with them. 6/15/2011

I have been using Precision Auto Service as long as Dan has been there. I go back because he is honest, and very good at communicating. Not only will he take the time to explain any issues he finds with my vehicle, but he will also give me different options for taking care of the problem. He will send me emails reminding me when it's time for maintenance, which I follow, because I trust him. As a result my vehicles last much longer. What I can't stand is a company that keeps telling me I need something, just to get me to spend money. It's very difficult to find a mechanic you can trust. Dan is a great human being, and I don't have to worry when I go to him for service. He is a detailed person with integrity, and a great trouble shooter. He has always taken care of me, and now my whole family goes to him. Dan will get the work done on time, every time. You can trust him, and his prices are very reasonable.
