Editorial review from Citysearch 6/21/2012

This review is long overdue. I am moving 3K miles away in the next few weeks and I will miss Dr Bacia, and the wonderful staff at Powers Drive Animal Hospital for their compassion and outstanding care. When my shih tzu puppy developed a limp that could no longer be ignored, I took her to see Dr. Bacia. An X-ray revealed (in layman terms) that one of her two leg bones stopped growing while the latter kept growing... This put increased pressure on the bone socket and ligements which caused her limp that would have gotten progessively worse over time, if not addressed asap. She was in surgery the following day. Dr. Bacia gave me two options: Have the surgery done by another vet with extensive experience in the type of surgery she required (substantially more expensive, too) or trust him (Bacia) to perform the surgery himself. Since I knew Dr. Bacia as my puppers vet, I trusted him implicitly and chose him to perform the surgery. The surgery procedure involved slicing the ulna bone in half to release the pressure from the socket and hopefully allow the bone to grow, heal and fuse back toether overtime. For two months, she was confined to my apartment with no play time and under 24/7 supervision. It was a stressful time for the both of us... but in the end, so worthwhile!!! She is once again the playful puppy I know her to be (minus the limp). I never expected her to fully recover but she has. And I couldn't be more grateful to Dr. Bacia and the his staff!!! I highly recommend Dr. Bacia to anyone who is serious about the care of their pets. I trust Dr. Bacia as if he were my own doctor and frankly the comprehensive care he offers is better. Dr. Bacia and the staff at Powers Drive Animal have seen me through some of the worst times with my puppy. The staff is well informed and trained, and they handeled my pup with sincere compassion and respect. These people genuinely care for animals and how they are treated. I have had many animals over my lifetime and experienced a lot of veterinarians in my time. Dr. Bacia and his staff are among the best in my opinion. I appreciate the time he commits to staying current with new methods of treatment. He holds the staff to a high standard of professionalism, and they are great people! I honestly don't know what I would have done without them! I will miss Dr. Bacia and his staff more than they will ever know! more

Excellent Vets - Professional, Expert, Caring and more 2/12/2012

Best Service Ever!!! 11/11/2011

My family has been going to PDAH since we got our baby Chow Chow Champ in 1998. Champ experienced extreme medical issues because of his hip dysplasia. Dr. Bacia far surpassed our expectations regarding Champy's health care. Champy was with us for 12.5 years and was a huge support when he had to put our sweet Champy down. We now have a rottie named Sasha Marie and live far enough away that we pass about 10 vets before PDAH but we would have it no other way than to go to see our beloved Dr. Bacia....even for a simple nail clipping. We highly recommend this office for the quality of genuine care...I will never forget when we would take Champy to him for the least little thing and once we asked what was wrong with Champy because he wouldn't eat if we didn't hand feed him...Dr. Bacia maintained his composure and did not call us fools or very special people...he just said, he wouldn't eat either if you hand fed me...in hindsight I would have laughed at someone who told me that same thing wit more

Best Clinic Ever! I drive 2 hours to see them. 9/14/2010

This is by FAR the best clinic in the area. I know that people travel far and wide to come to see Dr. B, despite how small the clinic may seem. Dr. Bacia is brilliant, and he is always so kind to me. He treats my pets like they are his own, and he does his best to give me a great price for the incredible service he gives. P.S. He is so handsome! Lucky Mrs. Bacia. (; more

Powers Drive Animal Hospital - They Care About Your Pet 7/10/2009

Do You Want to Know That Your Vet Cares About Your Pet?I have been fortunate enough to bring my two wonderful cats, Holly and Cinnamon, here over the years, as well as two wonderful cats that I could only foster until I could find good homes for them. It has always been very apparent that this is where animals are not only treated, but given love and affection. Dr. Bacia has gone the extra mile over and over again to provide the best care, as have his fellow veterinarians. The front office and techs are always caring and gentle. If you value care and compassion as highly as medical treatment, bring your pets here. We are very lucky to have them in our community. I hope, in time, they will have the resources to provide separate areas for cats and dogs. Jan D. more

World Class Veterinarian Clinc in Orlando, FL!! 6/26/2009

PDAH is by far one of the best veterinarian clinics and hospitals in business. I have personally witnessed their expertise and compassion for animals of all breeds and sizes over the years, and can attest to their brilliance as I had the pleasure of working side by side with them as one of their technicians. Miss you much Dr. Bacia, Dr. Hall, and Dr. Yerger. Always, Byron Evans more

Excellent care in friendly environment 1/23/2009

Our family has been taking numerous cats to these fine folks over the past 30 years. Dr. Hall, who is soon (too soon) retiring, once did surgery for a twisted intestine on our hamster! He took no money, as it was something new for him and a learning experience for all. No, this is not an emergency clinic by any means. Yes, they can handle emergencies of lesser magnitude, but are not set up like the REAL emergency vet clinics in various locations throughout Central Florida. Hence, take your animal to a REAL emergency clinic for urgent life or death care...open your wallet to pay for those services.Otherwise, for yearly shots, spay/neuter, declawing or other general surgeries, this clinic is topnotch. From the longtime receptionists that greet you to the vet techs that truly love your pet, you simply don't find this type of care in glitzy, high-end clinics located to service high-end clients. That is not to say that the clientele is low-end...we are not. We are hardworking folks who know more

Dr.Bacia Is the Best Vet Ever! 1/9/2007

Not only a great veterinarian who loves animals, Dr.Jeff Bacia is also a really good guy! He treats everyone with respect, and gives the best care to the animals. There has never ever been a better vet! Honestly, he is brilliant, and truly loves animals. Don't be surprised when you come in, and he refers to your animals as "My friend". He really loves them. Also, they are one of, if not THE, least expensive clinics around. The staff is great! They are all very friendly, and care for the well-being of your animals. I've had only good experiences there. more

I know, I used to work there! 4/3/2006

This is by far the best clinic I've ever been to. I used to work for them so I know their routines and how things work. They are thorough, clean, and top notch. I've been to many other animal hospitals over the years (and worked at another one too)... education, price, nor care can be beat by anyone else. I drive over 30 min. still to take my animals to this hospital. It's been around for many years and the owner and the Drs. are the best around... they truely care about the animals. They are not out to make a quick buck - they are truely there for you and your animals! PROS: Best around!!! CONS: I live too far from them! more

Not friendly people 11/10/2005

This is one of the few veterinary clinics around this town although this one has slightly cheaper prices it is in my own experiences not the best chioce. We sometimes take our animals here if they need there shots or heartworm/flea pills but I would not recommend to visit them in a animal mediacl emergency. We use to always take our animals here but once our dog had been poisned by antifreeze and it took them hours just to come outside to take a look at him and he was dying and going into convulsions they really didnt seem to care much.It was an emergency and they waited and saw us last! He suffered for hours because of there negligence and had to be put to sleep. So this place is ok for routine things but If its an emergency take your animals somewhere else its well worth the extra couple of bucks. more

Cat got declawed 5/23/2005

My mother took our cat here to get declawed. I picked the cat up for her when it was done and they were very friendly. The place was clean and staff was knowledgeable more

Very friendly 5/19/2005

I just had my cat declawed at Powers Drive Animal Hospital. They were efficient, even took care of some minor problems with the cat without additional charges. They kept my kitty for 2 days instead of the standard overnight and now I can enjoy my new furniture without worry of her clawing it up. more
