One of the biggest advantages Posh has over other neighborhood bars is its small (tiny) porch, where you can have your cocktail AND a cigarette.\r The bad thing about Posh is their use of djs... this is a small space with no dancing - so why blast music so loudly that you cannot hear the person next to you? I stopped by POSH a little before midnight on a recent Saturday night. Although I was alone, it didn't take long before I was engaged in conversation with several interesting bar patrons.\r \r Overall, it didn't feel like the typical NYC bar. Check out the Hells Kitchen Neighborhood and you won't find a better place to hang out then POSH.\r relaxing, warm and inviting best describes this local hangout. Bring your friends and enjoy the fabulous Happy hour every day. Lots of different festivities and theme nights. Jesus the new manager does a great job keepng the customers happy. I have to say that posh is truly one of the best bars on any given night. There is almost always a crowd be it happy hour and after work or 330 am. It is also far more friendly and diverse than virtualy any bar in this city. Having said that I need to address a review which I find RIDICULOUS. I have been a regular at this bar since it opened and seen many changes happen though it has ALWAYS maintained it's feel. One of those changes has been the addition of the flat screen TV which me and my friends find to be a welcome addition. The TV is not always on, more often than not when I have been there after 8 pm it is off, and when on, the sound is off, there is always great music playing here. every night different DJs. Having the TV gives the bar options to do things many other bars can't do like show the big award shows ALL of which I have watched at the bar with friends for years now. Wed night have become one of my favs.If you don't want to watch the show or don't like participating in fun questionaires and winning prizes and getting to meet celebs then true it is NOT the place for you for 1 hour from 10-11 on wed. But from the looks of the crowds there lately very few share the opinion of the previous reviewer. The last thing I want to mention about this bar is the staff and the prices. The prices cannot be beat, 1/2 price for hours EVERY SINGLE DAY during happy hour then a different drink special every night not to mention your pick of beers for under $5 all the time. A cosmo for $8 as opposed to the going rate of $11 or $12. SIgn me up!!!!!! Th staff here is great. They all have very different personalities and the staff has grown to be a very interesting and diverse cross of people. But what they all share is a genuine care about the bar and their customers and making everyone feel welcome, young, old, gay or straight, male or female. I have been going to posh for about 4 years now and i must say it is one of the friendliest bars in manhattan! i had to write a review because after reading the last one, i must contest that the project runway party hosted by Xavier, the bartender is one of the best parties in the city, last week he managed to get 5 of this years running contestants to Posh, and word is he will be bringing Tim Gunn (Parson's advisor) to this years finale at Posh. That being said, Posh is a wonderful time for all by all. There, i said it! Not to mention that when we go to posh on fridays, the dj is not only amazing but accomodating to everyone's likes and dislikes, which never happens in new york, right? I highly recommend posh to everyone who is not only young, but open-minded to fun, i and my best friends have met many a boyfriend at posh( ha ha) check it out and definitely bring a friend. they also have drink specials that are rivaled by few... hmmm. I have been going to Posh for awhile and am so disappointed on their Wed. night reality TV night. If your going to a bar to chill out and meet and talk to people and listen to music, forget going to this bar. They should change the name to Televishion Bar. No one talks they just sit and glare at the tv from stupid dance shows for an hour then two more hours of another fashion reality show. And PLEASE, REMEMBER... DO NOT ASK JAVIER FOR A DRINK WHILE HE IS ENTRANCED BY THESE SHOWS or you will get a glare of death and a glass full of attitude, that is if he turns around and even notices you. It is ashame that these reality shows are even on but more disappointing that they have found their way in to NYC Night Life.\r I would recommend this bar after 11:pm when the TV is finally off and people start coming in. We love this place. Great cheap drinks, great happy hour, cool bartenders and great DJ's. Not all the attitude of those other Chelsea & Hell's Kitchen bars. Go there and really enjoy yourself. Not sure what the owner's story is, but he's great eyecandy either way. \r Had a friend's birthday party there and were treated like stars. \r Great place for happy guys that don't need therapy. After going around the hood in Hells Kiitchen & putting with up the attitude at all the gay bars in the neighborhood. We stumbled across POSH. I been coming into Posh since the day it opened bringing life to Hells Kitchen. Straight or gay, the people are so kind & nice in the pub. Everyone is welcome in this 'Cheers Like Setting' This is not a sex sex sex bar, so the welcoming of straight people only adds to its charm. Posh is just like a slice of home in NYC. This week I was in NYC, visiting a friend. We went to Posh and everyone was so friendly. I felt like I have been going there my entire life. I live in the neighborhood, and of all the new bars that have opened up in the last few years, this one is my favorite - people actually talk to each other here - not just stare. Great bar staff, comfortable feeling. The perfect neighborhood bar, and has become increasingly crowded at night, but rarely is 'too' packed. Nice in the summer with the outdoor tables out front. Never had I had such a personal, friendly, enjoyable experience with a bar staff at a bar in the City. We laughed, we cried, we bonded.
