Portalli's 5/3/2010

I went to Portalli's last week with my boyfriend. We had an excellent experience. The food was wonderful. Everything we both got was cooked perfectly. I would highly recommend the calamari. I think it was the best I've ever had and I'm a huge calamari fan. Also, the s'more dessert is delicious. The atmosphere was very nice and the restaurant was very clean. Another highlight was the service. We had a very nice and attentive waitress who didnt mind answering our questions on the menu. I would highly recommend Portalli's to friends and we will definately be back. Thank you for a wonderful dining experience! Pros: food, service more

A nice little gem in old Ellicott CIty 3/7/2010

We sat in the upstairs dining room, which with the piano player and high ceilings was a little noisy. That is literally my only complaint. Our very personable waitress recommended a 3 or 4 course dinner and we did 4. Course after course we were blown away by the interesting recipes and fresh ingredients. The owner stopped by the table to see how we were doing and we explained how happy we were to not have to go to Baltimore or New York for great Italian. He was so happy with our praise he bought us a bottle of nice Champagne! I've never had that happen and it definitely left an impression. We will be back many, many times.
