This is a nice library. The childrens area is appealing. The problem comes when one compares it to the Kalamazoo Public Library. The building of the Kalamazoo Library is much better than that of the Portage public library, but that is not my complaint. My complaint is that the Portage library has a restrictive reciprocal lending agreement. I live in Richland, and I can check out books at the Kalamazoo Public Library based on their reciprocal agreement. I cannot do the same at the Portage Library. I think the Portage library should expand its list of reciporcal libraries.
