Popei's Clam Bar & Seafood Restaurant

This was one of the worst meals I ever had. I went here with my boyfriend on a Saturday night, after recently moving into the area. There were a lot of cars in the parking lot, which I took as a good sign. I knew not to expect much by way of decor, which a was fine because we were not in the mood to get dolled up. My boyfriend ordered the king crab leg dinner and I had the broiled seafood combination platter. We shared a bucket of mussels to start. The mussels were okay, but nothing to write home about. My seafood combo was disgusting. Everything was overly fishy. The scallops were the baby kind, and were all stuck together. The shrimp and piece of fish were completely overcooked. The stuffed shrimp were drowning in breading. I took one little bite of each item, and deemed it inedible. My boyfriend's king crab legs were completely overcooked. The legs couldn't be cracked. He would have needed a pair of scissors to cut through the shells. He did not eat the crab meat, but instead hid it underneath the shells. The waitress could tell that I didn't like my food and gave me a beer on the house. The dinner was $92 plus a 20% tip (not the waitress' fault that the food was so bad. We were so disgusted with dinner that we then went a block away and had sushi. I don't mind spending money on food, but this was disgusting!!!!! more

We are regulars at Popeii's and have been for quite a while. Food is always excellent! Any special requests are dofne without complaint. Waitstaff are always friendly! No complaints anywhere except for the grouch who won't let the patrons park in the lot!! Joe is a sweetheart. Don't miss this place! more

The food is great, prices are very reasonable for the amount of food you get... and don't even pay attention to the previous comment, the staff is VERY friendly and i've never come across these supposed 'young girls that twirl hair and chew gum' and if i did i wouldn't care... and think about it would you be smiling 24/7 if you had to serve snotty people like that all day? I give a lot of credit to anyone in the food industry. Great place.. wear you stretchy pants you will be stuffed!! more

We go to Popei's frequently and whether we are are eating in or picking up dinner to go, we have always been nothing short of thrilled about the service and quality! The food is AMAZING! Alway fresh and cooked and seasoned to perfection! There are so many choices on menu it can be overwhelming because everything sound so good. Even the drinks are great! \r \r I've also found the waitstaff to be friendly and sweet. When we bring out 1 year old daughter there they always bring her a little bowl of pasta without us even asking and they fuss over her. We love it there and it continues to be our go to place for incredible food with out the prices and pretention of other seafood restaurants.\r \r Definitely try it, you WILL NOT be disappointed! FOOD IS GREAT BUT THE YOUNG GIRLS THEY HAVE SERVING NEED TO SMILE A LITTLE AND STOP CHEW GUM . THEY SEEM TO BE YOUNG AND NOT INTO THERE JOB TO MUCH .
