Fantastic Catholic Learning Center 3/19/2006

The JP II Institute, as it's commonly referred to, is a fantastic attraction and a must-see for any Catholic visiting Washington, DC. It's a combination of a museum devoted to the Catholic faith, several galleries of traveling shows, and an exploratory, hands-on center for learning. It's a great place to spend the day with your family, and it's just a quick walk (or a shuttle, actually) from the National Basilica. Don't forget to check out their gift shop, too! more

A good place to learn about Catholicism 2/28/2006

The Pope John Paul II Cultural Center is another must-see spot for Catholics visiting DC. It's essentially a Catholic museum--they have all kinds of interesting exhibits about Catholicism and the Catholic Church in the US and around the world. When I went last, my favorite exhibit was on art work depicting the Virgin Mary. It is a really different and unique place to visit--and I highly recommend making the trip. more

The Pope John Paul I I Cultural Center features exhibits on the pope's life, a chapel, interactive exhibits on the Catholic faith, and much, much more. Located just blocks from the Shrine of the Immaculate Conception, it's a fantastic place for all ages. more
