Pools Ponds Etc

This coming from Cookeville Pools son-in-law! Well, touche'. Sometimes the truth hurts. If you'll notice, all the bad reviews were written when the present owners of Cookeville Pools were running Pools, Ponds, Etc. (now Affordable). 2010. The owners of Affordable Pools only opened up this year. 2011. On a personal note, God DOES know the truth. About you and the rest of HIS followers! I've dealt with Affordable Pools under their new management. I have no complaints what so ever. They were courtious, knowledgable, and professional. I would recommend them to anyone! more

PLEASE BE AWARE!!!!!!!!!!! I visited Affordable Pools and asked where the old employees were. They preceded to bash the previous owners and employees, telling us they were in bankruptcy and had to be kicked out because of late rent. (A little too much information to share with a customer if you ask me) The owners of Cookeville Pools are not under bankruptcy and have kept more than 75% of their previous business(kind of shows me they knew what they are doing and were liked by the majority of their customers). They have the same staff that they have had for 5 years that people have learned to trust. It is so sad when a company must a) lie about their competition to get business and b)have to resort to bashing their competition in order to get a customer base. Cookeville Pools is a Christian company, who has always done their best to satisfy everyone. I am not an employee, but I do go to church with 3 of their employees and ask you to go see for yourself. BEWARE OF COMPANIES WHO RESORT TO BASHING THEIR COMPETITION!!! more

I went to the pool store on burgess falls road to look at their above ground swimming pools. they are now called Affordable Pools and under different management. i found out that the original owners of pools, ponds, etc. had to reposses the store from the previous owners of 5 years due to them not making their payments and that they are in a chapter 13 bankruptcy and have opened another store in cookeville called cookeville pools. the people that are in the store now were very helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable about their products. I bought a pool from them and was pleased when within 2 weeks it was installed. the men that installed the pool were courtious and professional. they did a great job! I am VERY satisfied with the quality of service I received. I would recommend Affordable Pools to anyone. more

Please know that there are two sides to every story, This customer had to have rock busted out before this pool could even be set. This fiberglass pool did not sink. There was a small hollow spot that was underneath the stair, which was fixed. This caused no cosmetic or structural damage to the pool. The fiber optic light wasn't working properly due to a certain part which was covered under warranty. As for the electrical inspection not passing, we can thank the customers for that since they purchased a pool heater elsewhere and installed it themselves and tried to have it passed under our inspection instead of pulling another permit. Sorry to say they failed the inspection due to improper installation of heater. This company has been in business for almost 20 years we have learned that you will not please everyone. more

Will never use this company again. Used them for the first time this season. I had to call repeated times to get them to complete a job on my pool. Every time that I would call the woman who would answer was a complete b**ch. Also told them that I wouldn't be home when they finally confirmed the day they would be there to do the work. I came home for lunch to see what was being done. The workers were sitting on my deck smoking cigarettes. I don't smoke, and didn't like the fact that I had to pick up the disgusting butts they dropped in my yard around my pool and deck. When I called to complain, I was basically told ""Oh Well."" I later found out that most of the employees there are family and they don't care about the customers. There are too many pool places in the area to put up with these unprofessional people. My advice...look elsewhere for better business. more

This company put in mine and my husbands San Juan Fiberglass pool, and they did a horrible job. Now here we are a year later and it still isn't complete, and they are threatening to take us to court for the final payment on a pool that is no where near finished. The pool has sunk, and there are several hollow spots under the pool. The problems don't stop there. The concrete is so unlevel that it isn't even funny, and there is a one inch variable gap between the pool and the concrete all the way around the pool . The fiber optic light that they installed doesn't work properly, it doesn't even pass electrical inspection. Oh but just in case that isn't enough let me also inform you that they avoided all of our phone call attempt for six months.
