Loved this place But Hildy's Sad 7/16/2012

I been bringing my goldendoodle here for grooming. She has been coming here for a long time and the groomers have been making her look so pretty for her haircuts. But this time for the 3rd time My husband and I have NOT been happy with her haircuts. When I pick her up and bring her home I find out that her tummy area and the inside of her legs are all cut up from the razor. They could have least told me about it and then I would understand alot better why this is happening and I would not be calling in to complain. I understand that she has sensitive skin in that area but my husband trims her in that area alot and I have took her to other groomers that trim her in that area and she never got cut up in that area. You can not say they didn't use a razor in that area they did and my husband said so. There is no reason for my dog to be that cut up and bleeding like that and not tell the customer about it when the dog is being picked up. My poor hildy was not happy when I picked her up from more

Boo! 8/9/2011

As soon as you walk in the door, the terrible smell is the first thing that hits you. Then, it's the "wonderful" staff. I went for a "tour" where you can't go anywhere except the lobby (a little strange). I later asked my vet her opinion of the place and she said she couldn't even count how many sick dogs they've had just in the past few months. If you love your dog please don't take them here. On the upside, I did find a wonderful new daycare in Pencader corporate center. It's very clean and I can watch my dog play from home more

Disgruntled former staff and competitors give unfair reviews 7/28/2011

I have been both a Daycare boarder and a grooming client at Playtime Doggie Daycare since it opened. Their staff is friendly and courteus and willing to go out of their way to help pet owners. \r \r Their Grooming staff is one of the best I've ever taken a dog to.\r Our Cocker Spaniel was blind in one eye and losing vision in the other eye they took special care of him, going slowly and letting him hear every machine they were going to use, so he wasn't unneccessarily stressed. Our King Charles Cavalier had agression issues with people he didn't know (not with other dogs), they worked with him and gained his trust over a period of time. Both dogs were groomed there for 7 years with great grooming, cage free and no muzzles, exactly as they advertised.\r \r I wouldn't take my dogs anywhere else! Their prices are the best in town and their owner will take the time to personally discuss any questions or issues with you.\r \r A very thankful pet owner, LJBrown more

Try Fur-ever Friends as an alternative 6/7/2011

If Playtime Doggie Daycare is crowded and impersonal, come down the street to Fur-ever Friends Doggie Daycare. They have a fenced in backyard and they not only tell you about the dog's day, they give tips for training. I don't know which is cuter - to have my dog be so excited to come to the daycare or have the staff be so excited that my dog is here. 549 Old Baltimore Pike 533.5435. Call them and you will see the difference!! more

Ehhh 5/12/2011

We've taken our dogs here off and on for the past few years. I would say over the years the level of service has gone down. One of the things I hate about this place is that you don't really get any feedback on how your dog did. You go, drop your dog off... The dog goes behind the big door and that's all you really see of the place. You pick them up, pay, no one really talks to you, says how things went, etc. I wouldn't feel comfortable boarding my dogs here. Another thing... It's kind of small, and there aren't any grassy areas. I know the floor is supposed to be good for their feet, but our dogs would come home with injuries to their paws. We just switched to a new daycare right up the road. The two places are Night and day. I'm happy I finally found a place I would feel comfortable boarding them at. So for that, I thank you!\r \r Also, note that all of the below positive reviews were placed on the same day, march 9, 2011. With one person actually admitting they work there. Now I'm no more

doggie daycare 3/9/2011

You will not find another location to keep your dog where the staff will love them and get to know them as well as playtime doggie daycare. Although they need to pay more attention to the staff that they hire, there are a good amount of girls there that would do anything for your dog. They try very hard to keep up with whatever they can and deserve all the respect in the world. more

Run! 5/2/2010

This place is not what they claim to be. Beware! They are not good about ensuring the health and safety of pets. Don't be surprised if your pet picks up a virus or is injured due to their lack of care. Young, unattentive, untrained staff. Leave your dog at the vet--its goin to end up there if you leave it at this daycare anyhow more

Playtime Pups are happy pups. xD 3/8/2010

Im a bit biased because Ive worked there, but I definately love this place. =] I used to take my own dog there before he passed away. I knew the majority of the girls there and all of them care about the dogs as if they were their own. [Like I did.] I still can look through that window and name all of the dogs. I love our loyal clients. <3\r \r As a previous comment said, the staff is younger. One of the reasons for this is that many dogs can be intimidated by older people. While teenagers can relate to the dogs [and cats] more and can handle a lot more. [Lifting heavy dogs are hard on the backs of older people.] Also, the younger age allows the dogs to have more fun. We could run and play with them without losing much energy.\r \r The groomers are wonderful. I had a Sheltie and if you know dogs, they are constantly needing grooming. Joanie usually did his grooming beautifully, but also Mary and Meghan did an amazing job too.\r \r As with any children, injuries happen. Dogs can start to play more

Playtime Doggie Daycare & Pet is Fantastic 10/26/2009

My dog loves Playtime Doggie Daycare! We have been customers for over 2 years since we have a very energetic dog and she loves attending daycare. The staff is wonderful, all the employees know her and she loves them. We also have her groomed there and they do an excellent job. We couldn't be more pleased. more

Yuck-o 8/20/2009

Sadly, this facility is like most in the area. Dirty, poorly staffed, and unsafe. I was not comfortable leaving my dog here. Facility is unclean, and staff immature. I do not recommend. more

Not good. 7/29/2009

Not good. They're not attentive to complaints about their poor quality of care. Staff poorly trained, very young. Pay a kid in your neighborhood, they'd be better cared for. more
