The staff is very knowledgeable and will find a shoe that is the perfect fit for what you will use it for and for you. Playmakers Athletic Footwear and Apparel is a pretty decent place for finding your outdoor shoes and cloths. The selection is rather good but the prices follow pretty close to retail. Closeout deals are few and far between but the staff is friendly and knowledgeable of the products they carry. Unfortunately, if you are really in the market for great gear you will have to go to Bivwac’s in Ann Arbor. more

Playmakers sporting goods store in Okemos, Michigan is a large independantly owned business that is filled with clothing and footwear. They have every size and style of shoe that you could need. Specially trained footwear professionals will make sure that you are wearing the right shoe for the activity you will be participating in. They will even schedule a complimentary fit test, where your feet are evaluated while you are doing certain types of exercise, in order to see exactly what type of support, cushion and arch would be best for you. Twice a year (January and July) they have a great sidewalk sale where their items are marked down fifty percent or more. They are averagely priced for brand name sporting goods. It is not a clearance or factory store, and the items are all from the current season. If you are looking for a bargain, wait for the sidewalk sale. more

Playmakers is a fantastic sporting good store that looks like a large-chain store. It is locally owned and used to be in the Meridian Mall in Okemos, now it is just down the street on Grand River. The new store is HUGE, and is rather breathtaking. When you walk inside, you are immediately drawn to the back of the store where you'll see a huge rock formation which forms the second level, along with tropical plants and a mural of paradise. Whether you're shopping for sporting clothes, or just want to see a fantastically designed store, check out Playmakers. I highly recommend it. more
