I really tried to give them a second and third chance. 5/14/2012

I have been three times, the first time it was really good. Date night went well.. Then I took some friends... Service was bad, food was.. Really bad, it seemed like they were to busy to care, So I went the third time with a date just thinking it was a off chance and they had a bad night. The Glasses were dirty, silver wear bent and dirty, Service was a nightmare, I almost died do to nothing to drink and couldn?t swallow, some lady had to give me a sip of water from her table. The food was cold, I think it must of been from Cisco Foods.. I was amazed how bad and really upset about the service, when I told my server... they said sorry..We are really busy... with that response, that problem should fix its self soon. Sad to see places go under like that. more

This place is a FAKE and a SHAM! Don't waste your money! 6/2/2009

This is NOT authentic Hispanic or Argentinian cuisine at all! The only Argentinian item on the menu that... more

Great for Special Occasions 4/7/2008

4 of us had a wonderful meal at Briarcliff Piropos. We were seated immediately. Server was attentive and drink glasses were never empty. We enjoyed appetizers, salads, wine, pasta, seafood, steak, lamb and dessert. Each course was timed to perfection so we never felt rushed or left waiting. We never noticed ANY of the noise of which others have complained. As a family we always sample each others meals and the flavor and seasonings of each were well above average. Portion size was just right, no huge sack of leftovers and no one left even slightly hungry. I had the Seared Lamb with Polenta & Port Lingonberry Sauce. This was far better than any lamb I have had recently, including Ruth's Chris. My wife had the Filet Mignon. (equal to ANY and better than most) My son had the Mixed Grill of Fish with Jasmine Rice and Asparagus. Of all our meals, this was the least exciting. The Jasmine rice was excellent, but the rest would rate ""above average"". My Daughter-in-law had the ""Pasta con Camarones y Vieyras"". (Shrimp & Scallops over Penne Rigatte Pasta. This had to be equal to my Lamb if not better. The pasta was ""to die for"". Overall I would give this my highest rating. Price is between $60 & $80 per person, and well worth the expense. Don't let the other low ratings keep you from an excellent dining experience. Enjoy. Pros: The Flavor, View, Wine List, Service Cons: Parking Lot IS confusing more

New Location - Still Loud and the Service Suffers From It 2/3/2008

We tried Piropos again in its new location. The Parkville structure had been somewhat of a challenge to get to for people who did not know the area, and was the noisiest restaurant I have ever been in. Results for the new location in Briarcliff - Same old issues and the service has gotten worse. The noise level is so bad my companion and I virtually shouted at each other the entire time. The server could hear us no better. Having received my drink from the bar I soon noticed the glass was broken. After reporting to this the server a second time he responds with, ""Wow, you weren't kidding."" It would be nice to be taken seriously when you bring an issue to their attention. The food was ""good"", but I'm not sure the experience was worth the $127 bill for two people. And as a parting shot, they double charged my credit card. So now I have to get that worked out too. Piropos is a nice looking, but substandard restaurant in desperate need of some professional help. Pros: Nice location and well prepared food. Cons: Noisy and Poor Service more

urghhhh 11/7/2007

Food with quality of chain restaurants, nothing spetacular at all The decor is really in bad taste as well. The service was average, but u could tell the server was not happy for being there. And they call themselves agertinian cuisine, but they have in the menu the sooo boring peppercorn filet mignon with mushrooms and a really flavorless gratin potatoes as a side dish that I order (aren't they french?????). If you still feel like wasting your money and time and like deep fried stuff order the empanadas, at least they are authentic and tasty....but not for a fine dining at all.... more

Beautiful view, great wine list and lovely food 7/20/2006

Piropos is where my husband and I went for our second dinner on our 10th anniversary after leaving a very unsatisfactory experience on the Plaza! It was like coming home -- I don't know why we ever left. We were promptly seated. The wait staff was super attentive. The view is always great. The restaurant decor is fun (wall murals and oversize clocks) and open, but definitely not too loud. The food is consistently good -- meat, fish and appetizers. Desert was great and the wine list is long and good. It's worth the drive. Pros: View, bar, wine list Cons: Parking lot is odd-shaped and can be challenging to navigate when the resto is crowded more

We went to Piropos and had a most unsatisfactory evening. Aggresive staff and manager who destroyed the ambiance. A dreadful surprise. Please do not patronise this very ugly and un-chic restaurant if you value a good night out. more
