Newyears Eve 1/16/2010

My girlfriends and I decided to make the trip into Times square for NewYears Eve this year ,but we stopped in channel 4 on our way there and guess what we never left ! First of all there was no cover charge and the food and cocktails were so good . But the best part of our night was the time shared with the sexy bartenders in their kilts these guys made my night and judging from the impression left on one or two of my girls, theirs also ! So thankyou boys and we will be back into see you real soon. xxoo.Megan Pros: Fantastic bartenders and great place Cons: none to mention more

Channel 4 rocks! 9/6/2009

The atmosphere, location and menu were remarkable. Our server Orla made our experince unique and refreshing. We can't get over her charm and contagious laughter. Pros: Best service and frindly staff!... more

TOTALLY Awesome, so glad I was introduced to it!! 8/19/2009

At first I didn't know what to expect when several friends took me to Channel 4 on my Birthday, but it was definitely an awesome experience. The waitresses were very prompt and friendly (cute too!), and we were FULLY taken care of -- I myself had a medium-rare steak, which was done to PERFECTION, and my friends had fish n' chips and shepherd's pie , and it was great. The dessert was heavenly - Irish mire cakes and banana cigarillos, yum :-). This is a VERY awesome place to eat and relax and have lots of fun, right in the heart of midtown. HHHHHIGHLY recommended!!!! Pros: Great food, prompt service, very cool & exciting atmosphere Cons: I wish this were a franchise! more

Service was TRULY FANTASTIC! 8/15/2009

The other night I attended the Tori Amos show at Radio city and needed a place close by to have a quick dinner with about 6 friends. We were looking for comfort and quality, I walked by this quaint Irish restaurant called Channel 4 ( probably appropriately named because NBC studios is across the street). We were seated in 2 minutes without a reservation and it was a comfortable booth. The filet mignon sliders were so darn good! There beer selection was broad and our waitress was adorable! We will most definitely revisit and I will now have a good recommendation for anyone who is going to a show at Radio city! Pros: Clean, Attentive Service, Delicious Food. Great Location more

Really enjoyed my visit 4/19/2009

Was in NYC over easter, dropped into this wonderful Bar / Restaurant in Midtown. Enjoyed the food and the service was top class. Highly recommend this bar and I will be back here on my next visit to NYC.....Top Marks to all... Pros: Food, Service Cons: Could not leave this place, beer really tasted well more

Bad Manners 4/7/2009

I never write reviews but was so appalled by this restaurant that I have to. From the nasty waitress with an attitude to the 18% gratuity ruined what was supposed to be a nice evening out. I have been in the restaurant business and know proper etiquette and this restaurant needs a crash course. A waitress should not question the way I want a drink served and also should not have snide remarks to any questions that are asked regarding the menu. Then we get the bill which was well over $200 to see that an 18% gratuity was added! No where did it state on the menu that parties of 4 would be charged gratuity! Did she put it on because I was with 3 people who happened to have Irish accents?!?! Funny thing is though those people are far from tourists who hold American passports. I would never go back to this restaurant for their blatant disrespect to their customers. We would have complained there and then but it was our friends birthday and did not want her to feel anymore uncomfortable. Pros: Decent Food Cons: Waitress with an attitude & 18% gratuity more

gregg rocks the house 7/4/2008

At concert 3 weeks ago in radio city music hall so stopped in for some lubrication beforehand(channel 4 is few blocks close by)and this place was rockin but we where served pretty fast and had no problems getting refills promptly, the bartender noticed i was a sox fan so i took a beatin for that this guy was too funny slinging drinks like a madman but still had time to bust my ball s and charm my girlfriend at the same time ,we had such a goodtime we even went back after the show to see big gregg he even give us a drink on the house. S So If your in the neighboorhood or in new york stop in and say hi to gregg tell him Boston mike sent you in. Pros: Gregg ,good drinks, close to radio city Cons: couldnt stay another nite more

great bartender great guinness 4/5/2008

I have been frequenting bars in midtown Manhattan for the last 10 years or so and am relatively unimpressed with the usual offerings in choice, service and value.Recently i happened to come across channel four bar in Rockefella center ,i was greeted by Greg the bartender who made me feel like i was a regular for years i ended up staying three hours being entertained by this interesting irish man. The Guinness poured correctly complete with shammrock on top was creamingly divine coupled with the mussels recommended by Greg was amazing.I spent a very enjoyable evening here in channel four and will be back soon to experience the 'craic' and Guinesss with Greg,i only have one complaint though the music was a little loud Pros: great bartender great guinness Cons: music little too loud more

Good Choice Around Radio City - Great Bartender 3/17/2008

My wife and I were walking around before a show at Radio City on a Saturday night looking for a place to have a drink and maybe a light dinner. We were about to pass this place by when another guy came out and recommended it to us. We walked right in, they offered us a table right away, but we chose to just eat at the bar. Greg, the bartender, treated us like family. He pours a perfect Guiness and makes a great Cosmo. Our food came right away and it was delicious. My wife had the crabcake appetizer and I had a fish po' boy special. Nothing fancy, just good food and great service. Greg was entertaining and paid attention to us. We never had to flag down a waiter or put up with any ""attitude."" The prices seemed very reasonable to me. The appetizer, fish special, a bowl of soup, 3 Guinesses, and 2 cosmos came to about $75. We were in and out in no more than an hour. I would go back there again, I would take friends there, and I would recommend it to anyone in the area. Pros: Greg the bartender more

greg the bartender! 12/5/2007

greg the bartender was phenomenal! took really good care of us california kids... even got us through the entire backstreet boys catalouge on the jukebox without us even caring!! if youre looking for a good time & friendly atmosphere greg and channel 4 is the place! Pros: good location.. great people, good atmosphere... good tv screens more

what a laugh!!! 11/29/2006

the bartender Greg was the best!!! After work a group of us were tired of going to our usual spot so we tried somewhere different and went to channel 4 the other day. Greg was so entertaining and the large bar platters we ordered were good and at a really great price. What more can you ask for good serviceand good food. My co workers and I have a new place to go after work. Pros: greg the bartender more

SHEPARDS PIE IS TO DIE FOR!!!!! 11/29/2006

My faimly was in town this weekend....twelve of us. We spent the day shopping and siteseeing....We were all exhausted and starving!! The service and food was delicious and they were able to seat us immediatly...and the place was so cozy!! Now we know where to go!! Pros: great location, speedy service more

While holiday shopping stop by this wonderful place! 10/7/2006

What a great time! Pros: great food! wonderful location, top service more

Great Atmosphere, great people 9/18/2006

What a place! A great place to gather with friends after a hard day at the office. Unwind with a beer or those famous chocolate martini's you can't find anything like them in the city. The staff and management are courteous and friendly and the food is out of this world - try the tuna sandwich! All in all a great place to meet for dinner and drinks. Can't wait to go back.. more

Good food... bad happy hour spot 8/15/2006

My co-workers and I frequent many bars for happy hour. The best bars can be found along 2nd and 3rd Ave. We recently made the mistake of going to Channel 4 (located in midtown between 5th and 6th Ave). There was very little space to move around, and not because it was crowded, but because the place is physically small. The bar was full of 40-60 year old tourists. The drinks were terribly watered down though the food was OK. Pros: Decent appetizers Cons: Horrendous service... rude and obnoxious more

Wonderful PLACE 6/5/2002

This place is really great! I loved the food, service and atmosphere. I recommend this place to everyone. You'll enjoy yourself! more
