Where the not so glamorous people go! 10/16/2006

My Co-worker recommended this place to me so my friends and I decided to check it out. I wanted to beat my co-worker when I got back to work on Monday. My friends and I were the hottest people in there. It seemed like a place where all the rejected people went when they got turned down at the hot OC spots. The dance floor was so tiny filled of people who can't dance. There was a lot of hick looking people, old folks that think they are still young and perverted men. If you do go make sure your all liquored up. My friends and I could only stay for one drink then we left. more

my favorite bar, and bartenders in the oc!! 9/24/2006

This place has such a friendly staff, that knows how make a mean cocktail...they always have giveaways, and you can cook your own burger..how much better can it get! Pros: great drinks, great people, always a good time Cons: nothing more

Cool Bar Staff 9/20/2006

Been to alot of places and I like this the best due to the chill atmosphere. If you're a chick, you can relax and have fun, and not worry about every drooling dog hu%p*ng your leg because they have a great security staff. And if your with the guy's you can hang out. listen to the tunes, play pool, watch sports and respectfully check out the scenary. I'm sure you can find some rude bar staff at times, most likely you'd want to evaluate your own attitude first before saying they have the rudest staff, cuz it's not true at all. Not the newest bling bling spot in the OC, but certainly long standing, and that's not a mistake. I'd highly recommend the place... It really all depends on what your mood is, but it's always good for a little people watching and music playing. P.S. It IS like CHEERS Pros: Tons of parking, and you can leave your car overnight without worrying about getting towed more

horrible service... 8/11/2006

This place is run down and on top of it filled with agry employees. They are so rude, my group and i left early. we have never done that. We will never be back. Pros: cheap Cons: cheesy more

Very casual and free 5/30/2006

Granted, it was a Wednesday night so I wasn't expecting much. Drove up, there was no cover and the place wasn't crowded at all. I was in town solo and thought it would be a cool place to meet some folks. The moment I get to the bar, I meet a nice couple who just got off the dance floor. Moments later I meet a couple of cool dudes who recommended other places in town. The beer was cheap. That night, everytime you bought an adult beverage, you were given a raffle ticket to win a Grand. Talent wasn't great, no real eye candy. Again, it was a Wednesday night, but it had potential. Alas, there was a banging waitress to ogle over that night. I'd recommend because of the potential for trouble. Pros: Free, Friendly Atmosphere, Cheap Drinks Cons: Music was lame more

Not recommended! 5/20/2006

The gin and tonic I ordered was mixed poorly the first time, and poorly the second time when I had the bartender remake it. The crowd was not a twenty-something crowd. It was more like late-twenties to early-forties. The crowd also lacked good looking, young, in shape women. I am 23 and use to going to LA spots. I wouldn't spend the ten bucks to go again. more

get there early to grab a table and no cover 10/17/2005

DJ hooked me up with the bday wishes all night. Good drinks. Great music, mostly R & B, but a little other stuff. Restroom lady was on top of things. A little ghetto with numers written on the stall doors. Friendly staff. VERY mixed crowd, kind of low key until later on. Definitely some "adult" dancing going on. Which is fine if you like that. I just went to dance, met some nice peeps, and had a great time! I guess there were burgers on the patio, but I didn't get one. Pros: music, cheap liquor more

Great party... don't go on a date!!! 2/22/2005

The first time that I went here I went with a woman... BIG MISTAKE. If you have $20 and want to meet someone... this is a guaranteed hook-up spot. The drinks are cheap, and there is never a lack of women. Sure go to a club on Saturday, but every other day of the week should be spent here... there should be a law about it!!! more

Good and cheap! 8/22/2004

No $20 cover charge here, no cover charge at all. Why pay a $20 cover elsewhere when you can see the same losers here for free! I recommend getting to Piece Street before 10pm or else you will end up standing in line to get in. The atmosphere is laid back and friendly. Get there before 9pm and you can grill a good tasting hamburger on the patio. Thursday, Fridays, and Saturdays are best! Pros: Inexpensive, Crowded more

Solid 1/22/2003

This place manages to serve up good times all the time! Good crowd, cheap drinks, + thumpin music. We need more places like this in OC. more

Like being at CHEERS! 1/13/2003

I frequent Pierce Street Annex ( mostly on weekends ) and I find the place to be great. If you go there enough, you'll eventually know everyone ( from the bartenders to the other regulars ). From Thursday through Saturday there's always a party as Johnny B knows exactly what you want to hear ( or is that the other way around? ) My suggestion is that you go around 8, partake in a few inexpensive beers, wait until 10 and then watch the party people ( and other lovable freaks ) break out. Pros: inexpensive, friendly regulars, decent parking Cons: small dance floor, can crowd quickly more

Editorial
  • In Short
"Casual" and "cheap" sum up this Costa Mesa singles party destination. It's one of the area's top pickup spots, with beachy, attractive 20-somethings filling the majority of the bill. Drink specials keep the small dance floor fueled, as singles smash together to hip-hop and rock hits. A large patio area allows for conversation if the inside frenzy gets overwhelming.
