I really liked Dr. Dan. He's really smart but also made me feel comfortable. He's got a great sense of humor. They are open late and have weekend hours. Staff is pleasant. You get what you pay for. more

GREAT doctor and great office staff! I visited Dr. Dan at Phillips Eye Care today and it was my first true eye exam, as I've never had glasses or contacts in the past. While my vision is still fine, I had several styes that needed attention. Had I visited my primary doctor, I may have never known that I have a chronic condition that is causing my styes, or that I am at risk for glaucoma! Dr. Dan has great bedside manner and is very informative without being judgmental. He is smart, capable, easy to talk to and also easy on the eyes. ;) His office staff is also great! I spoke to several different people between making the appointment and checking in, and everyone was extremely friendly and helpful. The entire office seems to have a great rapport with all of their patients, and I can see why! I would HIGHLY recommend Phillips Eye Care to everyone! Even if you don't need glasses or contacts, such as myself, it is still just as important as seeing your regular doctor. more

Amazing with Children!!! 8/23/2011

I couldn't believe how great he was with my 6 year old! It was her first time to the eye Dr. and she was nervous. The entire experience was awesome! From the toys in the waiting room and the toys in the exam room to the cool and unique ways ""Dr. Dan"" did the exam without her knowing he was doing it. He used a bugs bunny show on tv as part of the exam ? she loved that! ""Dr. Dan"" was personable and worked with her on her level so she was comfortable. There was no waiting and the staff was awesome too! This office was recommended by my pediatrician and I highly recommend it to anyone, especially someone with children. more

  • Dr. Daniel Phillips received a Bachelor of Science degree from Michigan State University and his doctorate of optometry from the Illinois College of Optometry. He has served as president of the Metropolitan Detroit Optometric Society. He currently serves on the clinical advisory board to TLC Laser Eye Center. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his children, Zoe and Blake.&#10Dr. Will E. Phillips received a Bachelor of Science degree from Ohio State University and his doctorate of optometry from the Illinois College of Optometry. After his graduation in 1959, he started the practice in Southgate. His career has been one of service to the community and the profession of optometry. He has served as president of the local and state optometric associations, as a national chairperson for VISION USA and as an examiner for the National Board of Examiners in Optometry. The scope of the practice of optometry in Michigan is largely due to his efforts within the political system he has been honored by the Illinois College of Optometry as one of its 125 most distinguished alumni.
