I have bought guppies, tetras, and hermit crabs from here. Their heating in the hermit crab tank was too cold for it in the store. When I pointed this out to the manager they said the heater broke and theyre getting a new one in (when I came back weeks later they still had no proper heat in the tank). \r \r When I bought tetras,they kept dying and I came back the next day. They said it was from MY tank but I brought a sample in with me, it tested out good. They had none left in the tank to replace and when I asked, they said they "sold out" (but there were tons in the tank the day before). The same happened with guppies. They died too. My tank is heated and clean. Despite the best of care for the fish and the hermits, the bulk of them died. \r \r The staff isn't that well informed either. When asked if I could mix goldfish with tetras/guppies, they said goldfish are coldwater and tetras/guppies are warm. But if you read online about goldfish they actually prefer temperate degree water over more

Nice store 11/10/2005

I really like Petco Animal Supplies at the Waterfront. They have such a variety of aquarium supplies and live fish. The staff is very knowledgeable and helpful. I had many questions when I wanted to set up an aquarium and the staff member that helped me was great. This is my favorite Petco around. more

GREAT HELP 10 STAR!!!! 10/26/2005

I COULDNT FIGURE OUT WHY MY FISH DIED. I TOOK THEM AND A WATER SAMPLE DOWN. THEY REPLACED MY FISH AND SHOWED ME WHAT I HAD TO DO TO FIX THE PROBLEM. THE GIRL HAD TO BE JUST OUTTA HIGH SCHOOL AND THE FIRST THING YOU THING OF IS ANOTHER FUN AROUND. SHE FOOLED ME more
