Petal & Leaf

Frankly I can't afford to get bouquets at Petal and Leaf, but small bunches of individual posies won't break the bank. It's a relaxing experience to poke around here and get acquainted with the gorgeous variety of flowers - often I find something unusual here. If you ask the staff will add greens and a ribbon to your bunch. They also have pricey soaps, incense and other gifty things. more

The only flower shop in the JP central area. A pretty good place, with a nice staff. I've received flowers form them someone ordered from out-of-state, and they were pretty nice. Nice to browse the selection here, and the staff is patient, informative, and friendly. They make flowers fun! Their selection changes throughout the different seasons, so you may want to visit every now and then to see the new stuff that they have. more

Petal and Leaf is my favorite florist. It is quite pricey for a neighborhood florist, but nothing like Winston's or anything and from time to time you can find some great deals. I have been buying flowers at Petal and Leaf since they opened a few years ago. I am always impressed with their excellent customer service. They offer help, but will never crowd you if you just feel like looking around. The staff is very knowledgeable and even if you go in with a vague idea of what you want, they will make up a gorgeous arrangement in a matter of minutes. The thing that I love most about Petal and Leaf is that they go the extra mile with presentation. For example, they use nice greens (nicer than your average florist) to dress up bouquets and they always tie a nice fabric ribbon around your purchase. So even if you can't spend a lot on flowers, they are nicely dressed up and your purchase is sure to exude classiness. Sometimes their selection is a bit thin, but most of the time they have lots of great stuff to choose from: cut flowers and potted plants, old standbys like roses and tulips plus more unusual flowers. more

Petal & Leaf is very conveniently located in Jamaica Plain, on Centre Street. It is a beautiful shop, with gorgeous fresh flowers and very tasteful and often elegant arrangements. Unfortunately, the prices are very high. It’s a great florist if you really want to impress a date, but for day-to-day needs it is a bit pricey. They have a great selection of cut flowers and potted flowers to choose from, as well as bouquets. I will occasionally buy one or two Gerber daisies there, but other than that it is completely out of my price range. more
