Best place EVER!!!! We had to euthanize our sheltie of 14 years .Dr. Adcock looked him over and gave us the grim news in a kind and compassionate voice . He was there with me to the very end and allowed me to place my dearest dog in the bag to be cremated. Dr. Adcock held my dogs body like it was a baby in his arms . I cried and he offered me tissues .The staff is wonderful and sent me a condolences card . I will ALWAYS recommend this Dr. to anybody who truly loves their animals. more

Nice staff, but Dr. Adcock has zero customer service skills. We had to euthanize our cat and all he did during my visit was to complain about roadside animal care vans. He never once offered condolences and I would never return there. Whatever money you think you might save will be offset by abuse at the hands of Dr. Adcock. more

Dr. Adcock and his staff are very nice. He has taken care of my pugs Stanley and Alfred. I even trusted him to clean the teeth of my older pug Stanley. He has the best prices and I drive 20 mins to get from my house to his office. When we go out of town we use his office to board our dogs as well. It makes since to have a trained vet baby sit your dog. This way if they get sick they are at the right place for the best care. I do not trust any other vet to take care of my dogs. This is the reason why I have no trust. The Petsmart on Harbison killed my last pug Kodi at the age of four. They over vaccinated him with a bunch of shots one of which he was allergic to. He went into shock and the brand new vet (Dr Hazard) fresh out of school panicked. As a result my little buddy Kodi passed away while in their care for a wellness exam and rabies shot. I never knew that things could go so wrong. Be careful whom you trust your family with. My pets are my family. more

Dr. Adcock and his staff have been taking care of all my pups and kitties since 1995. He is one of the best animal surgeons in town, and this has been verified by friends of mine who are vet techs, other vets, etc. His facility is 20 minutes from my house, but I make the trek. His staff has always been very kind to my furry friends. AND very informative. This facility has a lot of calls, so I can honestly say (after almost 19 years of my biz), just be patient. They will answer. Good people there, Hell Yes. That is the rub. more

Our lab puppy needed surgery and everyone else was unwilling to work with us on the price. He had to have surgery and we were unsure what the outcome would be but we couldn't afford the unrealistic rates that Charleston was requiring. Dr. Adcock was recommended to us by a family member and we were very impressed. He went over and beyond the call to help our puppy ""CatFish"". The staff there were very friendly and willing to help out in anyway they could. We were very impressed and satisfied. We know where we'll go if we have anymore animal emergencies in our future! Thanks Pet Vac!!!! more

The staff is incredibly rude, as is the Vet. Dr. Adcock was very, very rough with my 14 year old Pom, grabbing her around the neck to examine her. Even worse, when i moved out of state and she needed her heart med refilled, they refused to release the prescription to a pet pharmacy and insisited i only order from them. The problem is, when i looked at their prices, they only sell whole bottles of the meds, which is very expensive and the vet tech on the phone told me outright that he was far too busy to walk me through the website. Their cheap prices are the only reason anyone goes to them. more

Nightmare 10/28/2012

My experience with this Vet was unimaginable horror!!! I was in shock when I left this place and could not believe what I had just witnessed. I went for only a heartworm test for my dog but what she got was what I call animal abuse as the Vet scared my dog by trying to tie a rope around her neck and literally fighting with her until she was bleeding from hitting her head on table, wall, etc. and she pooped all over the room from fear. I thought she was going to die from trying to gasp for air because she could not breath. I was yelling for him to stop so I could take her out of this dreadful place but the Vet just rolled his eyes at me and said he wasn't going to let her have her way because just like a child she would always act up if we let her get away with it! The Vet Adcock talked to me like I was a total idiot!!! This behavior was totally uncalled for from someone who suppose to be a professional and someone you are suppose to trust with your beloved pets life. Never again more

HORRIBLE and Heartless vet 7/9/2012

A few years back, my chi was playing outside and snagged her shoulder on a piece of wire tearing a large hole in her shoulder. I was new to the area and this was the closest vet that I knew of. The "vet" there lifted her out of my arms by the nape of her neck, which caused the hole to tear even further. She began screaming, so he handed her to a "nurse" to take to the back. He had barely even glanced at the wound, but said she was going to require surgery. I explained that I didn't have much money because my husband had just passed away and asked if he could do a payment plan for me. He began yelling at me, telling me that if I couldn't afford proper care for her then I didn't need her! I asked for him to give her back to me and that I would find another vet. He said he was not going to let her leave his office in that condition and that either I could pay him to tend her or he would not allow me to have her back! He was yelling at me, saying that I was not fit to have a dog!! I more

Affordable but dirty 7/6/2010

Took my dog to Dr. Adcock for a wound on his ear.... he barely looked at it and gave me fly repellent. The dogs ear is infected and needs antibiotics. Asked the doctor about flea treatment and was basically told if it doesn't come from his office it is no good. The problem is everything he sells only works for a week and then the fleas are back. My dogs are over 120lbs a piece and they need something for large dogs. The only thing that we have found that works is K9 Advantix which they don't sell. He is nice as long as you don't question him... then he treats you like you don't know how to take care of your pet. Not to mention the place is filthy. Pros: No appt needed Cons: The doctor is a jerk more

So affordable! Great staff! 7/17/2009

My previous vet referred me to Pet Vac when my puppy broke his leg 4.5 months ago. That was a BIG mistake on their part, because now I'm never going back to my old vet (sorry guys, you've gotten way ""too big for your britches!""). I'm in the process of switching all of my pets (6 dogs and a cat) to PetVac to make Dr. Adcock their primary vet. Pros: Amazingly affordable vet care more

Wonderful Vet, Wonderful People! 6/8/2009

I took my dog Lucky into Pet Vac who was acting strange, without an apt. They found he had a twisted stomach and would've died if I came a couple hours later. They did emergency surgery then and there. Dr. Adcock is very personable and he and his staff deeply care about animals. He is the most reasonably priced vet around! more

Great Place 5/22/2009

my dog had parvo and they treated him and hes great now! Now hes fully vaccinated and up to date and doing great! Pros: Great prices and nice people more

Great service & care at great prices. 4/2/2009

I can't believe how little Dr. Adcock charges to do such wonderful work. He has performed 2 orthopedic surgeries on my puppy to mend a broken leg for about 1/3-1/2 the price I expected to pay for the procedures.\r I was referred to him by my regular veterinarian. But, after the major price hike at my regular vet & seeing the knowledge and experience of Dr. Adcock first hand, I plan to go to him for most of my veterinary needs in the future! more

Last Minute Appts Accepted! 12/30/2008

I have taken some rescued dogs here for shots when they needed to be seen asap! They always fit us in for shots or even the puppy that was coughing. They are very understanding to the needs of the clients and they always work with us! more
