Keep it simple, comrade 4/15/2006

I really think that all restaurants should be more like Pel'meni. Put two things on your menu, and then put your energy into getting those two things perfect. I get the same thing every time when I go to other restaurants anyway. If I'm in the mood for dumplings, which I am strangely often, there's just no question about where to go. To be honest though, they lose a star on being slightly overpriced. I guess you pay for quality, though. I should also note that I haven't been back since they re-opened, nor do I have any emotional investment in that whole affair. I've heard they're still good. more

Russian Dumplings For All 8/21/2005

With only two types of dumplings offered, meat and potato filled, there is little to no time wasted figuring out what to order. Both are delicious, and if you are feeling adventurous, one can order a split order of both types of dumpling. With each order of dumplings comes one soda and one slice of bread. The restaurant itself is small and cramped, but making up for the size, Pel'Meni features a great deal of character. Great for a meal or even a snack, Pel'Meni is a must visit. more

Something Russian! 7/14/2005

I am originally from Russia, so I was very pleased to find this little restaraunt in the middle of an American town. It is very small indeed, but is a very good alternative to fast-food restaraunts, especially if you're very hungry. They serve only pel'meni, though- and these are the meat or potato filled ravioli. You also get a piece of rye bread, sour cream, and your choice of soft drinks with your order. (I'd prefer kvass, though). more
