Wildwood Wildlife Park Minocqua, Wisconsin, has to be one of the neatest, smaller zoo's my husband and I visited last year.
You get hands on when you are meeting these wonderful fuzzy creatures.
They let you pick out which animal you want to hold. (I wanted to hold the baby skunk, but he was fast asleep in his little home and didn't really want to wake him up. I got to pet a chinchilla (soooooooo soft)).
As you are walking around this zoo, watch your step because they have many animals just walking around. I almost tripped over a giant turtle, basking away in the sun. Pigs too.
I thought I would go check out the goat that was sitting on one of the "people benches", and as I was saying hi, another little goat came by to say hello to me.
As you explore this zoo, you will come across many deer just wondering around the park. They are people friendly and fun to pet.
Bob and I also had fun by the bears. They have special "bear juice" that you can give the thirsty little critters. They love this stuff!
They want you to see with your hands as well as with your eyes.
You can even catch your own trout and pay for what you catch. No license required. (They even clean them for you and put them on ice).
Everywhere you turn here, there is something new to look at and explore.
Wildwood even has a very nice eatery and gift shop.
You will see so much more then lions, tigers, and bears, Oh my!
I hope to go back there again.
