Great Service, Great Food 5/1/2009

I would recommend that anyone visiting Weehawken, or Hoboken, for the first time--or anytime, make the time to have brunch, lunch or dinner here. My son and daughter-in-law hosted their wedding rehearsal dinner here in 2005, and our family has returned each year, since. The food and the service are still great, and Paula is a marvelous hostess/chef and restaurant owner. She oversees every little detail, but the atmosphere, in particular, in the evenings is truly the best. The pricing is not too bad either, when one considers what the cost of dining out, today, is. You can enjoy a complete breakfast for 5 for under $70, or a dinner for 10 for less than $400, not including wine! Go. Try it. You will LOVE it!! more

Wedding Rehersal Dinner with Large Groups 10/11/2007

This lovely little secret in Weehawken, New Jersey is very intimate -- the food, excellent! The service was outstanding, and the grilled salmon -- the best! We were a rather large group of 30 so for the staff that evening as we dined, it must have been especially demanding work, but everyone, and later, the chef surfaced and asked how the meal was, and was the most gracious, and warm; we complemented Paula, the owner, on the training of her staff who were most attentive. In fact, now, one year later, we are planning to return and celebrate the first wedding anniversary of my son and my daughter in law, in November, as the fond memories of this environment, and the food-- which everyone expected -- was delightful. After all, that is why the place was picked, in the first place! more

Why all the fuss? NOTHING SPECIAL. 9/18/2007

We dined here after reading an old article I found in a magazine. When we arrived the place had only 2 parties. There was no host so after the waitress took an order, went to the kitchen, brought out water, she acknowledged us and sat us. When I looked at the menu we wanted to run out of there. We thought, "This is it?" Anyhow, we ordered 2 pasta dishes as the menu is so limited and so mindless my 10 year old could whip up all the dishes. My husband had a bolognese sauce. It did not taste fresh at all, and he had barely any tagatelle noodles with it. I had the spaghetti with clams and some other old seafood. Gross! Fishy taste. I will never return nor will I recommend this horrible place. Paula was not there the night we were there. The two waitress' were nice but they clearly did not undersatnd the menu. When my husband asked if the pasta was homemade in the restaurant, she said, "Yes, they buy it in boxes and make it here." They really should teach the staff what the hect the place is about. There are so many other great places to have Italian in the area, don't waste a meal here. more

Not to be missed.... 8/3/2006

Paula at Rigoletto's is a fantastic find. My son and fiance were visiting from NC and I took them there for dinner. Paula greets you with a smile and is genuinely friendly. We tried several appetizers and especially enjoyed the 3 varieties of bruschetta and the caprese salad. For entrees we had the Saltlimbocca alla Romana, Spaghetti alla Carbonara and Penne al Carciofo. Everything was fresh and delicious. Paula came over to our table several times to ask how everything was. Paula has a special way about her to make you feel very comfortable and welcomed. I will return again and again! more

Paula's - An Enjoyable Evening with Great Food 6/17/2005

Paula's serves a variety of Italian-inspired dishes with fresh, seasonal ingredients. The chef personally greets everyone who comes in, and takes the same care with the food as she does with her customers. Her antipasto platter is delicious, and the specials change frequently. This is the best restaurant in Weehawken, and a welcome addition to the neighborhood. more
