Paul Wharton Photography

I first hired Paul Wharton for our wedding in 2003. It was amazing how he swooped in and nailed every shot. Since that time, we've gone back to him and his daughter for newborn baby sittings of both of our sons, family sittings, and a couple of professional jobs. They are always so great to work with. We have one photo hanging in our home that Paul took of our two year old at the time, holding his new baby brother and we've actually had visitors cry when looking at it. We'll keep going back! Paul takes pictures of my girls every year, sometimes more than once. These are young girls that are constantly moving around, or "posing." He never asks them to pose like a stiff board or look unnatural in a picture, he just lets them be themselves. The images that he puts on paper and sends us digitally, are priceless. The years are going by quickly, and these are the fondest memories that we have of them....hanging all over our house. Paul does fantastic work. Paul's pictures aren't pictures but still movies that capture memories that silver and gold could never buy. Paul's attention to detail and creativeness are only a few of the key elements that other photographers could never mimic. The only other photographer out there that comes close is Paul's daughter..... I guess the apple doesn't fall to far from the tree. If you just want pictures than hire any photographer, if you want a story recreated through pictures than hire Paul Wharton Photography. Paul did a wonderful job with my wedding. He has an amazing memory and was calling members of my family by name within 10 minutes of starting my wedding photos. He helped the entire night of the wedding making sure that he got every shot that was important for the night and with all the right members of the wedding party and family. Paul did a great job being seamless at the wedding dressed in all black, and floated around making everyone feel very comfortable capturing all kinds of wonderful 'in the moment' shots. I think Paul does a wonderful job. I have used him for my daughter's 3,6,9,&12 month pictures. They could have not have turned out better! His sitting fee price is great...I could not ask him to be any better! He is soooo friendly, and my daughter does great with him. Also, they are very quick to get my pictures printed. I would recommend him to everyone I know!!! Also, he did my brothers wedding a year ago and their pics are phenomenal!!! Pros: Everything! He is great, and such a nice man! Cons: Nothing! more

I have been taking pictures with Paul for seven years now, and my only regret is that I only do it twice a year. Every time I see him, he makes me feel so comfortable, even though I don't normally like to be in front of the camera. He always looks at the pictures with me to see which ones are my favorites, and then helps me make changes to the ones I don't like. He is so friendly and easy to work with, that I will never go to another professional photographer. No need to search for anyone else. The old saying, "You get what you pay for" is not true. Paul has been photographing myself and my family for YEARS! Where would we be without him? We have done pictures with just the four of us, and pictures with 22 people, half of which were babies. Can you imagine all the moving pieces? Paul is so patient and gets the pictures taken before the kids go completely bonkers. We have done studio shots, weddings, you name it. The list in endless, and so is Paul's patience. He has done such a great job for us for so long, he is like an extended family member. He travels to all kinds of location shoots with us and works under crazy conditions for extremely long hours without increasing his rate. He is amazing. What else can I say, besides, if you don't call him for your event, you are totally missing out. You can find someone cheaper, but you won't find someone better or nicer anywhere. I had the Wharton Photography team shoot my wedding in August 2008. I got engaged in 2007 and worked with them for almost a year. We had the most wonderful experience. Paul did our engagement shoot, my bridal portraits, and 12 hours the day of our wedding. My pictures turned out fantastic. He works with his daughter Tori, who is incredibly talented for her age. She actually took some of my favorite shots of the day! I love that it is a team effort, I was able to have photos of several angles at the same time. It was nice to have Tori, because I felt very comfortable having her while we were getting our hair and make-up done and getting dressed. They are both extrememely professional and a pleasure to work with. Paul is not only an excellent photographer, but so much fun to be around. After the rehearsal dinner, he knew everyone in our (large) wedding party by name, who they were with, their dates, and all of our family members. My photographs and books turned out BEAUTIFUL. I ended up getting 4 volumes of books for myself because there were too many great photos, I couldn't choose! We are still very close, and I treasure the friendships I made with the Wharton team during my wedding. Pros: quality AND quantity of photos more

My experience was not so good. Paul seems so nice. But he sent his daughter to cover our wedding, the most important day of my life and half of the pictures she took were not worth looking at. She was very homely looking considering it was a wedding and everyone else was dressed up. They quoted me one price, and of course it was way higher than originally quoted. I feel you can get more pictures for your money and beware because Paul Wharton photography means you get his daughter who is like 16 or 17 years old. She took pictures so fast, she was so ready to get out of there and missed quite a bit, that I would have loved to had pictures of. My advice is look around, there are plenty of great photographers who do just as great quality work, for a lower price and much more personal attention. He is a good photographer, but my advice is to shop around. His prices are out of control and you can get as good a quality somewhere else ...cheaper. His daughter pretty much runs the business and is not as professional and knowledgable as the father. Paul has a great way of bringing out character when he shoots portraits. He is always willing to take your ideas and add his creativity. The end result is very satisfying. more
