This is the only place you NEED to go to to party! They have premium bands that sound like the cd on the patio. They have good lounge singers. They have food if you get there earl...

Worst

We were there on a Friday night. There were about 10 of us. The waiter was hard to find but in general very nice. The outdoor are was amazing and the all female band sounded great...

WORSE BAR in the world, the bartenders must be on drugs or are very stupid,as soon as I walked in the piano bar in the back I saw a menu to see what drinks they had I wanted to get one that was about 8 bucks ,I told the loser name Lorenzo I believe and this geek says I can't serve you, you have to leave, I honestly thought it was a role playing bar or something, then he kept saying it over and over. I was shocked. They charge me to get in but say you won't get served???? Wtf . realize they said I been drinking too much already? Are you kidding I was sober when I got there you fools I told that idiot I just got here, even the ugly bartender girl that was next to him said the same thing, this is my first time here and now I have to leave. I think they like embarrassing and humiliating they're customers. These bartenders have to be on some substance, they had to be, it was embarrassing, did report it to manager and got a refund. Will never step foot in that garbage ever again!!!!!! more

This place is a dump.. Staff needs to be trained on how to treat customers, would not go back or recommend this to enemy. more

Best Dance club in san antonio 8/23/2011

This is the only place you NEED to go to to party! They have premium bands that sound like the cd on the patio. They have good lounge singers. They have food if you get there early. YOU Must get there early but do not get tallied because they open the stairs to go upstairs and that is where you will find real djs playing premium dance music! Yes they have 2 rooms one for the typical American rubbish but the other played Choons I heard in Ibiza last week. Whew what a blast. This place would be a perfect ten if they stayed open a bit longer though. more

Live music hiphop dance and DUBSTEP in san antonio 5/26/2011

By far the coolest place in San Antonio. You have to go there. Start out in the piano lounge. Chill by the fire and then go upstairs and get down to new Dance music and dubstep in one room or grind to hip hop in the other. This place blows every other wannabe bar away for sure. If you go home single you have issues. jk. more

They will rip you off! 2/26/2011

We were there on a Friday night. There were about 10 of us. The waiter was hard to find but in general very nice. The outdoor are was amazing and the all female band sounded great. However, the troubles began when we went to pay. The waiter couldn't properly divide the check and ended up charging my husband and I $85 when our tab should have been $35. We agreed to pay the tab (which included our friends drinks). Then they declined my husbands card (which was a lie). The charge showed up on his account. Then they ran my card and said it was declined. Which was a lie that charge showed on my account! The manager got involved and said he would reverse the charges and asked us to pay $7 the price of two drinks!! Well they reversed my husbands and not mine! After calling several times and them constantly saying they would reverse it.... it is still charged to my account! THEY WILL RIP YOU OFF!!! more

The flaming fountain can't rescue this crap 11/6/2010

This isn't Pat O'Brian's. Even the Universal Studios City Walk in Orlando does 10 times better at replicating the New Orleans. The food was unrecognizable from the parent restaurant. The tiny slice of pecan pie was served cold and coldly. The etufee was tiny, cold, and void of flavor. If only I had looked at the City Search reviews I would not have gone. Avoid this place. There are so many restaurants nearby that actually try. more

Great place to leave!!!! 1/29/2010

My wife and I went to NOLA and the bar was great so when we went to the one in SATX we expected the same....The bald piano guy was absolutely terrible because he was so drunk he could not hold a tune... When my wife gave him a song written on a napkin to sing, he wanted us to buy him a shot just to sing it!!! I couldn't freakin' believe it!!! The country sounding guy was O K, at least he tried to be funny..... The girl singer was worth the price of admission! I couldn't believe they charged me for going in to see this crap!!!!! Next time we will spend the extra $15 us and go to the Howl at the Moon bar! When we left, we went to Dirty Nelly's and the one piano player they had there was better than the three at Pat O'Brien's, which is sad cause i have been to the original in NOLA and the piano players there were awesome~!!!!!!! Pros: Walking out.... Cons: Food and service.... more

So very disappointed!! 12/20/2009

SEATED AND IGNORED. WHEN GOT UP LEAVE 20 MINS LATER THE HOST PRETENDED NOT TO SEE US AND TURNED AWAY AS IF WE WERE NOT THERE. WE WERE THE SECOND PARTY TO LEAVE IN THAT 20 MINS. THEY WERE NOT BUSY AND WE SEEN TWO SERVERS COME AND WALK AROUND, THEN LEAVE!! Pros: Garden area music was good1 Cons: tHE SERVICE ? IT DOESNM'T EXIST! more

Walked in and Walked right out!! 10/17/2009

The general manager should hire secret shoppers to keep tabs on how employee's treat the customers! What a wastSad Pros: Patio area very nice Cons: The Bartender is a jerk!!! more

Horrible, Horrible, Horrible 7/17/2009

Avoid this place. Staff is rude and the piano guys are horrible. One screeches his way through the songs (at least he is nice looking) and the other one thinks hes a country singer but hasnt found the key he sings in and can't keep in tune (and is nothing to look at). Its a shame this place carries the Pat OBriens name. Pros: Nothing Cons: Everything more

HORRIBLE!!! 11/11/2008

This place stinks! The service was terrible and the food was just as bad. Our waitress got our drink/food orders and then split. After eating half of the poor tasting food we waited 20 minutes before we finally spotted her duck in the kitchen. My husband had to go into the kitchen to tell her we needed our check. We lived in New Orleans for three years and this place does no justice to the original Pat O's. Pros: Cheap food Cons: The service and food more

POOR POOR AND WORST 4/7/2008

I Dont recomend this place at all. Went here to have a good time after NCAA celebration, and were greeted RUDELY at the door. Paid cover charge to be there not but an hr. The bouncers inside think they can grab and assult people just because they work there and once the police come..they are no whrere to be found..hmmmm. My husb and I went with a small group , were cursed at by an employee and asked to leave after an accidental bump even tho we apologized. They werent going to allow us to even close our tab, when we refused to leave without OUR CREDITCARD, the biggest bouncer there slammed my husband and choked him repeatedly and no one even helped that worked there..they jus said they couldnt get him off. My husband is left with 2 black eyes and bruises on his neck. We are filing assult charges, this was just uncalled for. I will NEVER go there again. And I dont recomend it at all. To top it off they overcharged my card 50.00 more than what we had agreed. Pros: music was good Cons: poor staff and judgement by them being the actual staff of ""customer service"" more

Great food and fun atmosphere 7/24/2007

My son and I went to Pat O'Briens on a recent visit to SA and really enjoyed it. The alligator bites appetizer was just 'okay' but the shrimp creole and red bean and rice were excellent. The hurricanes were pretty good as well. Nice atmosphere and live music when we went. If I lived in SA I could see going there often. Pros: Good Food, good atmosphere, live music Cons: parking can be difficult more

Best Piano Bar In San Antonio 6/10/2007

A group of people and myself were at the San Antonio Pat O'Briens last Saturday night. We spent the evening in the piano bar and what a great time we had. The staff were friendly and accomodating, especially our waitress Kate, what a hard worker. She was right on top of replenishing our drinks. The piano show was really fun. Go and see Summer and Brad perform. They were hilarious, especially Brad and had our table in stiches watching them batlle guy and girl songs. The other two players were ok, but the real draw are these two. They work really well together. Summer has an awesome voice and Brad kept the audience singing along and their duets rock. We couldnt wait for their hour breaks between stage time for them to come back. They even got the audience to stand up and sing the national anthem. The only drawback we could think of was the five dollar cover but even still it was an enjoyable evening. Pros: Excellent service and entertainment Cons: Five dollar cover. more

Poor Service/Does not accommodate groups 6/3/2007

After attending a wedding in San Antonio, we decided to venture to the Riverwalk for a post wedding celebration. The entire wedding party was there, and we thought what better way to celebrate than to go to Pat O Brien's...BIG MISTAKE. Upon arrival we were treated very rudely by the doorman, and then requested to speak to the manager on duty. The manager on duty arrived and was also arrogant and non-accomodating to our group. We had over 15 people with us, along with a bride and groom. We all paid the door charge for a whopping one hour of service( or lack there of) and experienced nothing but rude bar staff, non-air conditioned facilities, and an over-crowded mix of drunken tourists! Needless to say, we will not be stoppin back at this bar on our next trip to the Alamo City. If you want the real experience, I would recommend Pat O""Briens in New Orleans. Don't waste your time with this Mc Donald's of a franchise. If you are in San Antonio, try one of the other hundreds of bars featuring music/entertainment, that are actually nice while taking your money. There are too many bars (and piano bars) on the Riverwalk to experience, to waste your time at this establishment!! Pros: Location Cons: Service, Service, Service more

Second best bar I know of. 9/26/2006

Go here. This bar is by far one of my favorite bars in the world - as long as it's a weekend. Pat O's has a few bars really. One of them is set up with patio style seating and with the nighttime weather here in San Antonio it's a wonderful place to sit and drink a New Orleans style hurricane. The other bar is a piano bar which is always packed friday and saturday night. Pcked. you have to get there before 10:30 to get a good seat and I recommend getting a good seat. Everyone writes their song requests on napkins and gets to hear them played on dueling pianos for a reasonable tip. The piano players, as a whole, are friendly, extremely talented and a lot of fun. All of them really, except for the fat one. The fat male piano player is a surly, money grubbing, tip monger who pretty much ruins his performance by inserting miserable ploys to get paid. The fat ruins the show. But all the others are wonderful. Pros: great drinks, great atmosphere, fantastic piano shows Cons: slow service, no good parking. more

Surprisingly good lunch 9/4/2006

We've been to Pat O'Briens in both New Orleans and Memphis but only for drinks and maybe an appetizer. We tried lunch here and it was very good and very reasonable. The muffalatta sandwich was good and the shrimp were excellent and very fresh and the portions were very nice for a lunch. So if you want a fancy drink or beer and a reasonable lunch with a New Orleans flair try the San Antonio Pat Obrien's. Pros: Good lunch, swift and pleasant service Cons: Small more

Awesome place to down some drinks! 5/1/2006

Pros: drinks Cons: small more
