We booked a tent in September of 2011 for a May 2012 graduation event, paid a deposit. We followed up about scheduling the set up early in 2012 as we had a very tight schedule of events around the time of the big graduation celebration. The manager seemed willing to accommodate our needs. T
The week of the event rolls around and they locked in a delivery and set up time that would not allow us time to accomplish all of our preparations after the tent was set up so I called and tried to get a different set up time, even willing to go way early if that made it easier for them. The manager remained completely rigid, even suggest that cancelling may be a way to sort it out. His claims were that he was doing us a big favor as all of his tents were going to one single event except one tent he ""saved"" out for us, and he had the contract set up for a few hours before the party started and since he agreed to go the evening before he had already been flexible. My request earlier in the year (the time he seemed more than happy to work with us) was to allow us a full day of prep time between set up and party. I realized that I had no choice but to try and find another facility and after locating a very friendly, professional and courteous company in Des Moines that was will to come out and set up early and at a slightly lower price on extremely short notice i booked them and called Party Time back to cancel. I asked the manager for my deposit to be refunded since my months old requested schedule was not being met and suddenly he was willing to accommodate my timeline. When I informed him that he was not willing to 20 minutes earlier so I had booked another vendor he told me that my deposit was not refundable and hung up on me.
