GREAT used book store 2/28/2008

Wow - that was a little scathing - maybe selective hearing on the part of the previous reviewer. I have been a customer of this store for over 20 years. NEVER have they bought books and never have they advertised that they buy books. The OWNERS, (there are no employees), would never say that they buy books, since they obviously know that they don't. And while complaining that some cash had to be paid, one should keep in mind that rent, insurance and utilities must be paid every month - do people honestly think that a business could survive on 55% of credit? \r \r This is a really great shop. The owners are very friendly and knowledgeable. One thing they will do is book-searching for customers - a great way to find an elusive title by a favorite author!! \r \r Pros: friendly, knowledgeable, helpful more

Rude and a Rip-Off! 3/10/2007

I went to this store after I called and asked if they bought books, they said ""yes"". I went in and was first told that they only give credit. Okay, so they lied on the phone. Whatever. Then after the transaction was finished, I read a long list of rules posted kind of hidden on the wall in the background, which said that in order to use your credit you must spend twice what you're using. Essentially, to use my $15 credit, I would have had to have bought $30 worth of books and spend $15 of my OWN money PLUS tax and $0.25 per book. WHAT?! At that point, I wanted my books back. After simply asking for them, they went off on me like I was trying to scam them or steal something. Then my Husband tried to reason with them and they continued to yell at the both of us and call us idiots. We left with the books that were still on the counter, but the rest had already been put away. So, we were the ones ripped off, not them. DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY BUSINESS ... EVER!! Pros: None! Cons: Everything! more
