Although downtown Berkeley is rarely a target destination for anyone outside of those going to see a movie or play, perhaps taking the time to drop by Paper Heaven when selling your books to Half Price, or browsing comics at Comic Relief, is worth your time. If you've never been in, you will be instantly assaulted by myriad items covering the walls and displays, many of which are novel, useful and bizarre. The store goes farther back than imagined and there's even a upstairs. They have everything, postcards (5 for $1), t-shirts, hosiery, masks, stationary, party items, magnets, gifts, lanterns, incense, anti-Bush playing cards, bulk bins full of odd items like whizzers and wind-up mice, the list goes on and on. Drop in, if only for the novelty, this place is needs to be seen to be believed.
