Fast and competent but will empty your wallet. They refuse to give a breakdown of the exorbiant costs. I did get one over the phone (sort of)for my $3000 water heater replacement: 75 gal gas WH (w/ 40% surcharge): 1700 Misc equipment: 100 Disposal of WH: 200 Labor (250/ hr):1000 ----------------------------------------------------- Total $3000 Problem is the techician will not give you a breakdown with the estimate. With 75 gallons leaking in your basement, what do you say? Felt good to get WH fixed but felt like I was overcharged. Should have just payed the $40 service charge and sent them on their way. Next time I'll just call 10 plumbers and get the lowest bid. And hope the WH does not burst more

Papalia Plumbing and Heating has provide me service on two occasions, each time providing good, prompt service. Once (unfortunately) the problem turned out to be not what was originally diagnosed, but Papalia returned and fixed the problem at no additional cost. My only recommendation would be to try doing small jobs yourself, and if that does not work, then call Papalia. more
