Papa John's Pizza

My wife ordered a pizza for us on the internet, where there is no possibility of making a mistake. I even saw the order she put in-- the same pizza we always get. But this was our first time with this Papa John's, and they seem to have a team of idiots capable of screwing up a printed order. We were told that our pizza would come in 45 minutes. We called after 55 minutes, only to be told that our pizza should be there any minute. About 15 minutes later, the pizza came, but it was the wrong one. So, my wife called the store, and the manager said, ""We didn't have that topping and I was too busy to call you to tell you. But I'll call you in a few hours to give you a comp."" In other words: they gave us the wrong pizza on purpose! That's the first time I've ever heard of such a thing! Naturally, they didn't call us for the comp, either. We didn't call them back-- I'd rather write this nasty review and hope the owner reads this and fires the entire staff and starts from scratch. Cons: INTENTIONALLY gave us the wrong food more

I went on a Monday night after 10--I was the only customer in the whole place, there were 2 employees, but it still took them over half an hour. One was on his cell phone with a friend the whole time, carried out the whole transaction while in conversation--and over-charged me for the wrong item. And then argued with me that he couldn't fix it. I finally got fed up with the rudeness, and asked to cancel the transaction, which he said he'd do.\r \r It's been 24 hours, and I'm still waiting for the reimbursement to show up on my credit card. I tried to contact the corporate headquarters to complain--wouldn't you know, no phone line, so now I have to wait for someone to get around to my email... \r \r There are at least 4 other pizza places within walking distance (Tango, Little Pizza King, Pizza Etc., Oak Square Pizza)--would recommend any of them over this. That was the worst pizza I have ever had. I've had better pizza at municipal swimming pools. I don't know if it's just this location, but... Papa John's was never very good, but this is so much worse than the Papa John's I had a couple years ago. more

Seriously, I live in Boston with some of the best non-chain pizza in the world and I order from Papa Johns?! In my defense, having just moved to Brighton, I don't know any pizza places around here so I thought I'd go with a place I ""knew"". I don't know if it was just this particular Papa John's or if after 3 years of not having Papa John's (since moving away from Tennessee), I had romaticized the place's food. But, man, this pizza was terrible. We had 2 pizzas, a thin crust and one of their new pan pizzas. The thin crust was over-cooked and dried out without much flavor. The pan pizza was a mushy, nasty mess. We threw 3/4/ of it away and only ate the rest of the thin crust one because we were starving. I am never, no matter how desperate, going to order from Papa John's again. I recommend you don't either. I'll write some rec's for other pizza places here in Brighton when I've been able to try them. Wish me luck! Pros: Delivered what I ordered Cons: Price and quality of the food. Ugh. more
