I like them but... 9/20/2011

I really love Palumbo's, I do. I've spent many a sober and not so sober nights consuming their pizzas, strombolis and steaks. However, what upsets me is, they are in SUCH a rush to close at 10 on the dot that they turn off their grill a whopping 25 minutes before closing time. As a former worker in the food business, I just think if you are advertising being open until a measely 10 o clock, then stay open until 10! Don't go down to a restricted menu because you are too lazy and don't want to stay 10 minutes later to clean the grill. And I'm not talking about weekends because I know they are too busy and don't want to deal with drunk jerks so they don't have their full menu until 2 but this is a Tuesday night! more

Best Pizza in Harrisburg or 717! 9/14/2011

Seriously moved here about 5 years ago from NYC and good pizza in this area is hard to find.... I am an honest reviewer of business, will always tell you my experience and what I think. I will always tell you to try it for yourself, but this, the food at Palumbo's is wonderful! I myself have NEVER had a bad thing there that I didn't like. Now a days it hard to please every one, but over all if you haven't tried it make the effort to go in there day or night... Oh I have noticed that some people have commented that it is a great after clubs spot, (part truth) but they are open during the weekday lunch (warning lunch is usually packed) and the evenings for dinner too. Now they are open late night too on weekends... You can sit in there and see how they really do know their clientele. People walk in and they remember people by name, have their ""usual"" already cooking.... Over all love the food, and like one person said on here ""the professionalism"" too is great. more

Awesome, Fresh, Delicious 3/16/2010

We were on our way to the theater (it's just a quick 2 blocks away from Strawberry Square) as an out of town visitor to HBG. Calzone and Chix BBQ pizza were fantastic, fresh and fast. We ordered slices which were recently prepared, and they were quickly warmed in the pizza oven. Great care is taken with the dough prep, watched 4 guys shape and roll trays of dough. Lots of pride and professionalism here, and several night shift hotel bellmen, security guards, etc. came through for their to-go dinner. Do not be put off if you do not see diners inside, many more to-go orders came through during our meal. Clean, warm, welcoming inside, nothing fancy. BBQ Chix pizza was amazing. Thanks guys! Pros: mmmm that BBQ Chix Pizza!! more

Far & away best in Hbg area 2/15/2008

I've lived in NYC and had some really good pizza...and Palumbo's comes the closest of any pizza joint. Crispy crust. Not too much dough. Great toppings. I strongly recommend trying their Grandma pizza, the Holiday pizza or the BBQ Chicken. One slice is enough for an average person, too. more

Best Pizza Anywhere 1/7/2008

Wow, what a great place to get food! Finally, a Harrisburg landmark we can be proud of. They have great food, great service, large variety, reasonable prices, and everything is made in house. It's the best place to go if you want a quick bite to eat in Harrisburg.\r \r Pizza √ Stromboli √ Subs √ Sandwiches √ Salads √ Dinners √ Appz √ \r They're even open Friday and Saturday until 3 am! Pros: Great food Cons: No parking :( more

Great Pizza in downtown Harrisburg PA 7/14/2007

comming to PA from NYC it was going to be difficult trusting a pizzeria. I wont go near a pizza if the presentation is off. I have been spoiled and blessed at the same time with having the best pizza in the U.S.\r The pizza dough was crunchy, the sauce was just right and the servicde was great. I then knew why I always saw people sitting inside and outside having food. Next time i'm in PA I will visit Palumbo. Turns out the guys were from the old neighborhood. ( Brooklyn) Pros: great food Cons: not so great neighborhood more
