Just tried this place for the very first time because a friend wanted to try it. At first everything was fine. We approached the hostess and was promptly seated. The restaurant was surprisingly empty despite being 1pm, at what should have been the peak of the lunch rush. But anyway, the hostess/waitress took our orders and we were left to chat... About 15 mins into our conversation, a woman approaches us (I can only assume she was the manager). She informs me that my attire (worn for reasons of health and spirituality) was not acceptable and that if I didn't have something else to wear in my car that I would have to leave the establishment. Now, normally I would have left at this point, however I chose not to cause a scene in front of my dear friend, whom I had not seen in quite some time. ~ I do NOT intend to return to this restaurant. I felt incredibly offended and embarrassed by her tone and her comments. I did NOT deserve to be treated this way and I was incredibly surprised that they were so quick to turn away business when there was NO ONE else in the restaurant. Very insulting and disrespectful. My family and I choose to support small businesses instead of chain restaurants, but we will not be returning to Palmetto Flats.
