Palm Beach Tan

As of July 2012, Newport Tanning Club has been taken over by what feels like a large corporation - Premier Tanning or something like that. The experience is much more sterile and much less friendly than before. The girl (tallish brunette with frosty lipstick and too much eye make-up) at the front desk has the customer service skills of a pitbull. I'm not sure she is able to crack a smile or explain things without sounding indignant. She should be a bill collector or lawyer...not a customer service person. Everything seems to be a monthly package, which only benefits tanning addicts. Also, they have a fingerprint system, which they demand that you participate in, but you still have to tell them your last name (when visiting). So what is the point of taking your fingerprint other than to invade your privacy. The stench of my first visit, after the TAKEOVER, has left me with a sense of disgust. more

Thanks Newport Tanning Club- I was referred to you by a friend who bought the introductory deal which was pretty cheap- I got great results and most importantly I did not burn- I have fair skin and so many salons before never seem to care and have burnt me. But at Newport Tan I felt like all three employees that took care of me were so sweet and helpful and I actually encountered the manager and he was absolutely awesome- love him. Great customer service and NO pressure to buy more. I will be back before Thanksgiving to try the bigger bed in the front- looks very cool- hi tech! Go try them you will be happy you did! :) more

I have been there twice, and both times I had the urge to slap the girl at the counter. This was two different girls. The first time I went I was drawn in by a coupon I found on their website stating three tans for $14. I had called ahead to check that this deal was still valid and was told that it was and that I did not need to print out the coupon. When I arrived 20 minutes later the girl first pretended that she didn't know anything about it. She later let it slip that the boss said there was no way to ring it up on the computer. She then offered me two tans for $18. I took the deal. She then gave me a bed and said she was only going to give me six minutes because the bulbs were new. Six months later (today), I went in to redeem the second tan. When the girl asked if I wanted to buy another one, I replied with a simple no. She had the gull to respond with, ""What, you don't like to tan?"". I politely let her know I could not afford it. She then gave me a bed and said she was only going to give me six minutes because the bulbs were new. You be the judge on the truth of that statement. more

5 STARS for the best beds and the best deals in orange county. I have been tanning for years and I am a believer in Newport Tanning Club. I love their new beds- they are so nice nothing like the entry level beds I was used to at my old salon. Love all of the girls that work there....they are so friendly and really care. Its a treat to see them after I work out next door at 24 HR fitness! Many have been there for years and make you feel like your a VIP! I recommend them 100%. They always have great deals for new clients because I have referred tons of my friends! :) more

Bad Business Alert!!!! This place will do anything to get your dollar and keep it!! They are hurting to bad for sales, they have the front desks girls say ANYTHING to sell you a package--and then they NEVER honor it. They will put you in beds that have old bulbs, put you in the mystic with barely any solution... and they are rude at the counter and do not put the customer first. This place is not worth spending your hard earned dollars at ---- go somewhere where they value their costumers, sell a viable product and don't rip of their guests!!! BOO!!! I have been a customer here for years and I couldn't be more satisfied! The staff is friendly and always remember my name, the salon is very clean, and the beds are amazing!! They just redid everything so now their basic beds are only 12 minutes with air conditioning and face tanners. They always have really good deals for the monthly packages....if you do monthly it gets cheaper which is so nice! The only thing is that parking is difficult, but besides that I love them! more

I have never been in hotter beds in my life. In the 6 months I have been tanning with them they have changed bulbs every month! Thats unheard of- I have tanned all over Costa Mesa and this place has the best beds in town. Plus the staff is really great- they really seem to care and have great product knowledge. So I would highly recommend Newport Tanning Salon. Plus I love being able to work out at 24HR Fitness and walk right next door- super convenient. Way to go! This place is awful. The service stinks. I met the owner and she was a real hag. Rude. Walking around thinking who she is because she owns a tanning salon. HAHAHAHA What a real idiot. The BEST tanning salon in Orange County! I have tried them all!! The beds here are the strongest and the price is right. The salon has been in business for over 11 years and they are opening a second location on Harbor and Adams in Costa Mesa on August 1, 2005. No confusing star/point systems in regards to purchasing tanning packages, just one low price for the highest quality bed on the market. The tanning bulbs in the beds are changed frequently and the staff is very friendly. Other tanning salons claim their beds are the best but I have tried them all as I said and none compare to NEWPORT TANNING CLUB! They offer magic tanning (sunless tanning) as well which is far superior to mistic tanning.
