We are very happy with Pacifica Pet Hospital. You can tell that they truly care about your pets and are not just trying to make money off of you. Their fees are very reasonable.

Best vet around 4/25/2008

I have been going there for a long time as well. I have noticed that they have been so busy and it does mean that a lot of Pacificans love to go there. I am cautious with businesses that are always empty!\r The docs are the best & so are the support staff. There have been a lot of new receptionists up front & thank god as there were a few strange ones in the past! Everyone there is always so helpful and courteous to me and I can't imagine taking my kids anywhere else. These guys know what they are doing and they are always happy when I go there. Dr. Hurlbut must be great to work for!!\r For people who don't like to spend money on their pets; if you can't afford them don't get them! more

excellent pet care 4/25/2008

Been a client of theirs for years and will never go anywhere else! They are always helpful and caring. I am usually a pain and call them quite often regarding my pets. If my dog is not doing right, I usually freak out, think of the worse & call them. They are always so patient with me and put me at ease.\r The last time I made an appointment, I had to wait a week. For me that's not bad as I usually have to wait weeks to see my doctor. The wait is worth it and goes to show you that everyone wants to go see them!!!\r The doctors & staff are awesome and if they can put up with a nag like me, it shows their professionalism! more

Defense for all the BS reviews 4/25/2008

I have been a client of their for 10 years. Yes, they are very busy and that goes to show that a lot of people love them and want to go to them! i had made a recent appointment for my animals for check ups and had to wait almost a week. I did't think of it as a big deal as I usually wait for a month to see my own doctor. Pros: great people more

Too busy to care 4/24/2008

I HAD been a client of Pacifica Pet for 4 years. Right there on the highway they're kind of obvious and I honestly didn't even realize there was another vet in town, but I really wish I had known sooner. The quality of medicine and customer service has generally been adequate. Not scary, but not terribly impressive either. I probably would have been content staying with them, but when my 14 year old dog had a nasty eye infection and they were completely unwilling to see him for 4 days.... That's unacceptable. more

Best vet clinic around 4/23/2008

I have been a client of Pacfica Pet Hospital for over 10 years and LOVE everyone there. I recommend them to all my friends and would not take my pets anywhere else. I have always found them to be professional, thorough and very compassionate about animals. I lost a very special dog to liver failure 4 years ago and thanks to Dr Hurlbut my beloved dog passed away very peacefully. My 10 year old dog who has a brain tumor has received incredible care from PPH and knowing that they will be there for us when we need them is a great comfort to me. They are very accommodating when it comes to my specials needs puppy mill dog AND they have been a friend to many, many rescue dogs I have brought in there! Need I say more??? Pros: Open 7 days a week! Cons: Not open 24 hrs a day :) more

Pacifica Pet Hospital 4/23/2008

These people rating this place poorly are crazy. I have been taking my dogs and cat to this hospital for 7 years and have experienced exceptional customer service and care. My dog was recently diagnosed with lymphoma, and PPH did all of his workup until they referred me to SF Vet Specialists. SF Vet Specialists commented on how thorough his workup was done by PPH, and this is coming from one of the best state of the art facilities around. The care we receive from Dr. Gary Hurlbut and staff is off the charts great. In fact, I refer all of my dog training clients to PPH since I know that they will enjoy the best care coupled with extreme kindness for their animals. Pros: Thumbs up for all Cons: NONE more

EXTREME CARELESSNESS!!! 3/26/2008

I am in a home with multiple cats. I have one particular cat, Miles, who has been ill for several months. My partner and I had taken Miles to Pacifica Pet Hospital many times to try to find out why he has been so ill. He has dropped several pounds over the past couple of months, his mouth (gums) were very dark red and in recent weeks began sleeping A LOT. At the visits to this faciity Miles was seen by Dr. Steve Randle. At these visits nobody could tell us what was going on with him. The did a dental back in September so we weren't understanding why there was a problem starting a month later. At these visits Dr. Randal did as little as he possibly could to band-aid our concern. We were told by Dr. Randal that Miles has a heart condition that requires medication. After many visits to this facility and seeing no change in Miles we took him to a vetenary specialist and what they found was interesting and alarming. MILES DOESN'T HAVE A HEART CONDITION THAT REQUIRES MEDICATION! The medication that Dr.Randle prescribed him was causing his liver and kidneys to malfunction! THEY WERE KILLING OUR CAT IN A SLOW MANNER! His visit with the specialist was today. They flushed his system of the medications and already shows improvement. He has to have some teeth pulled but that's all that is wrong with this cat. Animals are like small children and can't defend themselves, it is our duty as their parents to do so. It enrages me to see animals neglected BY DOCTORS because they are too lazy or dont have the care or concern to get up and find out why these animals are ill. Tomorrow we are removing ALL of our babies from this facilities care. If we are going to pay HUNDREDS of dollars in pet bills I would rest A LOT easier knowing they are being cared for by someone that cares as much as we do...Not by a bunch of money hungry, lazy, rude...and quiet mindless people that get the luxury of calling themselves a professional. more

Treat your pet better 12/29/2007

Very good to your animals. They were very professional and treat my dog well. I was writing a review for someone else so if the Bad Review is still there I ment the linda mar vet as the terrible one. SORRY. more

HORRENDOUS CUSTOMER SERVICES 8/17/2007

While the vets themselves, particularly Steve Randle, if you get any operator who will put you on hold or respond rudely to you when they do come back online, they can be real viragos. When I asked for a refill for Amoxi or (Amoxicillin drops) for my one cat who was showing the same symptoms which were an itch rubbing of her hindquarts after using her litter box, I did come in twice for tests and the aforementioned antibiotic was recommended and worked immediately and did return a couple of years later and we ran tests again and the same prescription worked again immediately. I then went online and spoke to several vets to find the reason why only one of three cats seemed to get this and it turned out that she basically was not drinking enough water. more

Good vet 10/2/2006

I have taken both my dog and cat to this facility. Both have received very good care here. I highly recommend this facility for your pet. Friendly care and service. more

Frienly and informative 10/1/2006

The staff are very friendly and helpful. The seem genuinely concerned for my pets. If they are not able to take you for emergency appointments, they will locate a vet office nearby, that they feel will be appropriate. more

Lady's First Doctor Appointment 9/29/2006

About 6 months ago i took my kitten here for a checkup. I liked this buisness because the staff was friendly and service was prompt. It wasn't too pricey and the flea meds were discounted, which was a plus. The facility was overall clean and inviting. The location is convienient as well. PROS: inviting aptmosphere, friendly people CONS: not enough parking more

Poor Customer Service 12/11/2005

I have been feeding my eldest cat a certain type of food since 2000 that is sold only at veterinary clinics. The food prevents him from getting struvite crystals in his urinary tract. There was never a written prescription issued for this food. I simply bought the food where it was available. I never had a problem buying the food until I visited Pacifica Pet Hospital. Instead of putting me in touch with a vet or listening to my explanation, the rude receptionist kept demanding a written prescription until I told her that she had lost my business permanently and left. Everybody but these jerks have been so kind to my wife and me since we moved to the Bay Area recently. Nobody cares how much you know until they know HOW MUCH YOU CARE. The people at this facility certainly care nothing for my business or my cat's well-being. Pros: location, aesthetics Cons: rude, rigid, not helpful more
