Best

Had a wonderful experience with the grandchildren--There are so many things at this zoo for kids to do and see! They had a terrific time! Didn't think we would ever leave! They...

Worst

I can't get the smell from the monkey exhibit out of my nose! The poor monkeys. Are monkeys really that dirty or do they just not clean the cages? I have never seen or smelt an...

Lions and tigers and bears oh my 4/10/2006

Animals everywhere you look. I just love getting to see animals that you do not get to see everyday. The Pittsburgh zoo and aquarium will not disappoint. They even have the PPG Aquarium there. It makes the day even more special when you get to see some of your favorite animals and fish all in one trip. more

The Zoo 3/26/2006

We usually visit here a couple times a year. Admission is relatively cheap for a attraction. There is a big parking lot and you go into the entrance after that there is this huge escalator that takes you up a steep hill. It is one of the longest that I have ever been on. Then you walk around viewing the animals that are in wildlife areas. The walk is long but there is some refreshment stands in between. They have a gift shop also. There is wagon rentals. The best park is the new aquarium and the children's zoo. more

The Pittsburgh Zoo 3/21/2006

The Pittsburgh zoo is a great place to take a child to watch nature in its splendor. With all the specials hey run with free parking here and there and discounted entrance. The only problem is the prices of items once you are inside. Me and my fiancee took her cousin to the zoo and needless to say lunch was more expensive than the entrance for all three of us! Also the gift shop is way over priced and designed to entice a child into wanting everything (all the more expensive items are on the lower shelves right at child level) more

Lions and Tigers and Bears... Oh my!! 3/18/2006

My family tries to visit the Pittsburgh Zoo a few times a year and we always have a wonderful time. No only do we all enjoy seeing the animals, but we also love the learning experience that goes with it.With Kid's Kingdom, children have the opportunity to learn a little bit about the animals that inhabit our world. The Kid's Kingdom play area also gives the adults a chance to sit down and let the kids play on the various slides and climbing nets. With a variety of places to grab a bite to eat or sit and enjoy your own picnic lunch that you packed yourself and gift shops to browse, take a day and enjoy the Pittsburgh Zoo. more

The BIG zoo in Pittsburgh 10/29/2005

This zoo is the big one in Pittsburgh and has all the animals that you would expect to find in a large city zoo. The park is child friendly and you can plan to spend the day there. They have food vendors and it's not that expensive. They also have a few little rides. They also have a gift shop. Parking is free, but get there earlier so that you can get a closer spot to the entrance. It can be a far, far walk from your car to the entrance if you park at the end of the lot. And once you are done walking around the zoo, it's nice not to have to walk all the way across the parking lot if you can help it! more

Pittsburgh Zoo 9/2/2005

The Pittsburgh Zoo is gorgeous. From the beautiful botany and the informative signs at every animals exhibit, the Pittsburgh Zoo is one of the best. It is pretty close to the city so you can make a day out of going to the zoo and visiting the city. Overall, the zoo is a wonderful experience... ps. check out the sign that is next to the beaver exhibit ;-) more

Pittsburgh Zoo--great for all ages 9/1/2005

The Pittsburgh Zoo is a really nice way to spend a day. It's not the San Diego Zoo but it's well done and you can see the animals in seminatural habitats without walking outrageously far. We were given a zoo membership with an adopt-an-animal (a black bear) as a wedding gift which was a really neat idea if you're looking for a unique gift for animal lovers. We enjoyed it so much we renewed it ourselves. more

Wonderful day at the zoo 8/29/2005

While you may not think of going to the zoo in a city, the Pittsburgh zoo is a wonderful place. There are lots of animals and many things to do. They even have a wonderful area where younger children are able to play with some animals. My favorite place in the zoo is the monkey house, what can I say I have a soft place in my heart for monkeys. They are fun to watch swinging from tree to tree and some of them even like to come close to the glass and say hello. All in all the zoo is full of many hours of entertainment for your dollar. They even have a wonderful African Safari exhibit. All the animals look happy and healthy. The grounds are wonderfully kept and new expierences wait around every corner. more
