I've got a Lenovo laptop that has served me well for years and all of a sudden the hard drive crashed right around Christmas. I really didn't want to spend money on a new computer as it was working fine before the hard drive went and finding someone wasn't easy. I ended up finding Paul of PC Nerds and he was prompt to respond. He thought it was something he could fix and we met and he had really good recommendations on what to do. He took the laptop and within a couple of days I had it back. He gave me advice on maintenance going forward and most importantly he was able to retrieve all of my data and upgraded some hardware so that I can go on without having to replace my laptop for a long time. After I got home and ran the computer it was running faster and better than ever. Call PC Nerds, it's better than buying a cheap laptop from a big store that will be slow after you add a few programs, have him make what you already have better and for less money, thanks Paul! more

Had someone from PC Nerds come out to my business as we had a server go down and we feared the data was lost. Was able to get back the data, recover the server, connect everything the way it was and get us back on our feet within one day! Amazing! Can't praise them enough as they saved our behinds. Will gladly recommend them to all our friends and associates.\r more

I called PC Nerds and spoke to Paul. He was very nice and really seemed to know his stuff so we made an appointment. My computer had a ton of problems. I was unable to access my files and my computer kept freezing. Paul came over and did his magic. I am VERY happy with his services and have recommend him to a few friends. Thank you Paul. more

Excellent work 10/5/2011

Paul did an excellent job removing a nasty virus that had completely shut down my computer. He returned my phone calls immediately. His prices were good, and he did the work quickly. I will definitely call again if anything else happens to my computer. more

AWFUL 10/4/2011

These people were a NIGHTMARE to work with. We set up time for them to come assess my project on a Saturday and Saturday morning I got a call from Paul saying they would need to come Sunday instead because of a plumbing problem at home and he would call me. Sunday came and went and I never heard from Paul. I heard from him Tuesday and we set up another time. Paul came over with a guy named Brent who works with him and I explained to them what I was trying to do and had everything outlined clearly on a sheet of paper. Paul told me the two of them would be able to complete the job in 4 days. After 2 days, I realized that they had misunderstood the project and had ignored my reference sheet I left for them. After 6 days of work, only 1.5 of which Paul showed up for after repeatedly telling me he would be there every day, about 1/3 of the project was complete and there was enormous holes in my walls that were completely unnecessary. I have three 2ft x 1ft holes on the same wall because Brent was trying to get wires from one floor to another by himself, which should be a 2 person job. He was trying to do this for 3 days by himself and finally Paul showed up and they got it done in 90 minutes. There was also another hole in my finished basement wall that is about 4ft x 2 ft that also should be nowhere that large. After all this, I told Paul I was going to hire someone else to finish the project because they were ruining my house faster than they were completing the project. He told me I still owed him $300 for supplies so I told him to bring itemized receipts for me to verify the costs when he came to pick up his supplies and I would write him a check for the money. I asked him when would be good for him to come by and he said 9am on a Saturday and then showed up at 10:30 more

Very Very Pleased! 8/31/2011

Awesome service from this small company. Had them come over to setup our home network, and they worked fast and did the job right. We connected 3 printers, 4 computers (both mac and pc's), and external backups. The technician even gave us advice as to future maintenance and how to get the most out of our computers. Will definitely be using them again and I recommend them to others. more

Saved me once again! 4/25/2011

I've used Paul and PC Nerds for numerous years now and he's always come through for me. Even recommended him to our office and he's just marvelous. This time around my hard drive crashed (nothing I did I was told) and everything was gone. No kids' pictures, no music, no documents. Nothing. He was able to get all my data back and I'm EXTREMELY grateful. Thanks once again Paul and may I not need you too soon. If i do, though, I know you'll help. :) more

I have had Paul of PC Nerds work with my home network system for the past 3 months and the service has been second to none. I have used other techs in past years and there is no comparison. Past techs took advantage of my lack of knowledge and inexperience (I am an older user) and really took advantage, charging me so much money I probably could have bought 3 new computers by the time I was done. Not with Paul, he explains what is going on every step of the way, made using my system so much easier for me and did not over charge me at all. He even came back when there was a problem and did not charge me for the visit. Paul is not only so experienced with all computers (PC's and MAC's) and their various issues, he has the utmost integrity and he is a pleasure to work with. I recently replaced my old PC, which finally had had it after many years, with a MAC and Paul guided me every step of the way, from helping me purchase the right machine to set up and some basic lessons. I am becoming quite adept, thanks to his expertise and patience. The fact that Paul has so much experience with both PC's and MAC's is great. I have hired Paul to work on our PC network at my job in a large teaching hospital here in Boston. He is a great guy, a fantastic communicator and he knows his stuff! \r If Paul is a little late, he will call. He cannot always guarantee when the job before you will be done, just as he cannot guarantee that the person after you might not have to wait a bit. He never knows what he is getting into so give him a window of time. He will always call if he is running behind in a job.\r I cannot say enough about Paul- he is the best tech I have ever worked with and he has taught me so much. I highly recommend him. AEH more

Highly recommended! 5/20/2009

I dealt exclusively with Paul. I expected to bring my computer to him but he said he could come to me that same day (no extra charge). Paul was about 30 minutes late but he called twice to let me know he was running late. That was fine, he was squeezing me in on short notice. Paul was personable and professional. Just a nice guy, hard-working, and definitely knows what he's doing. He was thorough in explaining the problem and what he was doing. He had given me an estimate over the phone and stuck to it. He stressed that the new parts were warrantied and that I should not hesitate to call if I encountered further problems. My computer's running great. The part he put in is an upgrade from the original and the computer is noticeably quieter. The price was more than reasonable. I will definitely call Paul in the future and would heartily recommend him. You know how sometimes you meet someone and you can tell, immediately, that this is a person of integrity - honest and genuine? So it is with Paul. Highly recommended! Life savers! 5/4/2008

Had my computer serviced before by a popular retail chain (which shall go unnamed) and they lost my data and charged me way too much. Needless to say when my hard drive crashed again a year later I asked a friend who recommended me to this company. They returned my computer in two days with all of my data back on it and helped me reconnect my printer and internet connection. I was in business again and they didn't even charge me half of what those other clowns did. Since my entire life was on my computer I can honestly say that they saved my life. Thanks. guys! Bizarre experience - no-showed for three appointments 3/17/2008

Paul could not have been more cordial over the phone when I called to set up a day and time for a follow-up appointment for my PC. When I called him two hours after he was scheduled to show he said he was busy and offered another appointment time for later in the week, for which he then did not show or call. When I called him a couple weeks later he offered me another appointment time, which he canceled with five minutes notice. He then offered another appointment and said he would be sure to be there. For this one he did not show or call either. I was treated horrendously. more

Had this company come over a few times for our office and they saved us every time. Like the fact that they get right to the problem and that even if they don't have an answer right away it takes them little time to find one and solve our problem. Thanks guys for all you've done. Short-staffed, Repair took longer than expected, Recommended if you speak with Paul. 7/4/2007

If you call PC Nerds, ask for Paul. Other staff members had poor customer service skills and were very bad at returning my phone calls and seemed to have poor communication with each other (quoted me different prices and never called back on time). When the owner, Paul, checked out the laptop and reviewed the service I was getting, he called me and apologized and even gave a discounted price for the service. I'd recommend PC Nerds if you deal ONLY with Paul (the owner). He mentioned they were short-staffed at the time, so this was probably a big factor in the poor service. Therefore, if you do call PC Nerds, I'd recommend being very direct in your initial conversation about if they are busy and will have the time to fix your computer in a timely manner. Pros: Picked up my computer Cons: Some staff members NOT friendly, service took longer than expected more

FIVE STAR SERVICE! 5/14/2006

48 hours from deadline my harddrive crashed and I lost all my data! Without visuals, my presentation would have been no more exciting than watching airline stewardesses dictating emergency evacuation. I called a friend that knows computers and he recommended PC Nerds, who manage his office network, and speak to Paul, who really knows his stuff. My computer got picked up that night and brought back the next morning before I went to work! When called to thank my friend, he couldn't believe that my data recovery was only $250. He said it’s usually a flat rate between $600-$1200! Wow! I wasn't charged for the emergency turn-around, travel, pick-up or drop-off, and Paul was everything but a ""nerd!"" At $75/hr I will never again say ""you get what you pay for"" because this job was worth 10 times that! Thank you PC Nerds for saving my job! Pros: Knowledgeable, Courteous, Informative more

Fast, honest service at reasonable price 5/12/2006

My daughter needed her laptop fixed for a business trip she was taking in under two days and was frantic for help- it was Saturday afternoon and she was leaving Monday morning - so we called a few places that told us they needed at least a week before they could even look at it. When I called these guys they arranged pick-up that same night, diagnosed the problem on the spot, ordered the part she needed for overnight delivery (so it came on Mon.), fixed it and sent it overnight to the hotel my daughter was staying at, so she could have it Tuesday morning in time for her meeting that afternoon. The guy we dealt with was very pleasant, honest and informative. I will definitely call them again. Pros: Fast, Honest, Experienced more

Been with this company for years now. They have always been there for us when we needed them (even when we call at 6am), and have gotten us out more jams/disasters than we care to remember. Easy to deal with, very trustworthy, and they have more than reasonable prices. Wouldn't use anyone else. Pros: reliable, honest, knowledgeable more
