I love this place! 11/21/2007

I have been going to Osaka's for the past couple years and each time I go back, the service is always outstanding! There was a particular visit when the hostess was a bit clueless (i.e. on where to sit us, etc) but other than that the food service does impress me. The food is always delicious and the atmosphere is very welcoming. I have introduced several friends and they in turn have brought their friends who all were very satisfied! I've had good and bad experiences on the couple of ocassions visiting this place. One visit the tuna was great but the salmon was medicore, the next time the salmon was great and the tuna was horrid. Their tempura was not very well done on each ocassion that I've gone, as they are too oily with too much breading. Their service was pretty good. This is one of the best sushi places in town, aside from Samurai in Folsom. The sushi rolls are not that inventive. They do an extraordinary job of preparing ordinary sushi. You have your standard Alsaska rolls, rainbow rolls, and hand rolls. Nothing too too crazy, but the fish is exceptional and the other ingredients are equally good. I have been to many sushi places that try and do way too much when all I need is the standard stuff, but with really fresh fish. It is a must try. If all you want is a rainbow, alaskan roll, and a spicy tuna hand roll, this is your place. Pros: Good Portions, Great Quality Fish Cons: Same Old Sushi more

Great sushi & great entres 10/6/2005

The quality of the food and freshness of the fish is very high and surprisingly consistent. My wife and I enjoyed dining at the Davis location while in college and continue to patronize this restaurant now that we live in Sacramento. It's certainly a "safe bet" when hungry for high quality Japanese food. The ambience is that of a family restaurant with typical Japanese flare, nothing notable, but always clean and comfortable. Great Japanese food- great Tempura, good Miso, good sushi rolls. We eat here all the time and it's very consistent and one of the best Japenese places I have ever eaten in. The prices are great and the service always is, too. EG resident that hightly recommends Osaka Sushi. more
